dont knwo if you saw it or not, but back when the 08 design was brand new Taylor Curtis had one in daytona.....every year since then Ive never seen him ride so well as he did on that 08 platform

im sure there are MANY others who witnessed the same and would totally agree

I remember that... and totally agree....

Cool man. The reason that I ask is that I've got a bone stock '09 that I bought new last spring. Ive been trying to get a direction on what I want to do with it. I have also heard some people say they don't like the new hull as much. I ride mostly inland lakes and I've never been in the surf, but I would like to make it to daytona '11. I guess the first mods, among other things will be reinforcing the hull, bilge(s), footholds, and a new pole/steering setup so that I can get some spin out of this pig. I'll be watching for updates in this thread.

well, I started cutting into it today... like I said, I'll be taking my time on this build because I am still working on my beach house and I keep glassing up my orange ski to make her last. Anyway, I cut out the footholds and will cut the tray out next week so I can remove all the perfectly good dry foam, reinforce it, install my one way valve and replace with polystyrene foam.

Looking good man. Got to be nice to start the new build when you still got a ski to ride. That was my case on my last build. Lot less stress!!! Good luck. Can't wait to try the new hull all ready for freeride.

Thanks Pat.

Got the Blowsion one way valve cut out and ready to go. Just got a bunch of fiberglass cloth from Brian, so I will be reinforcing soon. Then I can finish my one way valve install, and start cutting the light poly foam.

Hey Phil, move the pipe down to the bottom. You can even heat the pipe to controur it to the bottom of the hull. That way you get all the water out!!!!!!!!!!!!

yeah, i'm not done yet... I will use my dremmel to grind the bulkhead down a bit more so the tube rests on the very bottom of the hull.

cool.

My old hull had it up like that, I built a ramp up to help the flow.

Current hull Wammer did. It sits flat (controured) to the bottom. Flows out really fast. Almost as fast as it flows in!!!!!!!!!!!!!!! Damn Wammer Scuppers.

starting doing some reinforcing today

side of tray gets one layer of 8oz 6 inches wide to cover the bond line, and 1 layer of 8oz 12 inches wide for added strength.

side of motor area gets 1 layer of 8oz 6 inches wide to cover the bond line, 1 layer of 8oz 10 inches wide over that, and 1 layer of 12.5oz over the entire side, bottom to hood seal - all bulkhead to nose.

yeah, i've heard good things... your build, Eroks etc... I can't wait to ride it. Should be interesting being a new style SJ, destoryers, pump already set back, and shortened.

got the plugs made up and epoxied in place. Used panel fusor EZ101 fast set (@180 degrees). Headed back out now to epoxy the transom panels in place.

I also cut the rear bond line off, as I did on my other ski.

thoughts - In the last picture you can see I have drawn triangles on the chines. I'm debating whether to scallop the chines, but not sure how much it will change the handling characteristics... it'll be alot different as it is now.

Maybe I'll leave them and ride it for a while before I decide to scallop them.
