Picked up the S&W 40 shield last night. Here it is next to my military and police compact 40.

that bushmaster is a fair deal, just check it out good
make sure gas block is properly staked
on the bolt. check action, make sure bolt cycles smooth
for mild rec shooting it will be fine

You can get a bushmaster ar at sportsman's warehouse for $499 on Friday. Only thing that matters on an ar is the barrel, sights, and trigger. So buy cheap as possible then upgrade, or build your own.

I haven't shot .357 yet but keep eyeballing a conversion barrel for my Sig P226. Slide and mags are the same as .40 so $150 gets it done.

What's the draw for .357? Muzzle velocity? Cost per round? Accuracy? Just to be different?

Has anyone had their hands on a glock 42? thoughts?

I held one at the gun shop last weekend. I really like the feel of it. I was glad to see glock finally producing a thinner compact gun. I have the glock 26 which is the compact 9mm but its width is still the same as the standard size glocks. For a skinny guy like me I find it hard to conceal unless its winter time. If the 42 was a 9mm I would be buying one. Mcrider, have your wife look into the sig sauer p938. I guarantee she will love it. After buying my wife one, every one of our gun toting friends went out and bought one. They are just the ideal conceal carry gun IMO.
