Good low vis soft armor II+ twaron vest (with plate pockets) that will not be affected by moisture. Chest rig over it should work for most civilians.

Also a good option for on the go in suburbia. When you need to up armor for rifle threats just throw it over covert body armor.

If you are going to have a video with body armor someone needs to get shot to show its effectiveness. =)

Anyone else heard of Polycase Ammunition? I just found out about these a few minutes ago. Apparently they are even made right here in Savannah somewhere?

I was headed to the range tomorrow anyways. I might pick up a box of 9mm while I'm there.

Careful what ya say about too easy cuz they are workin on that for ya lol. Good luck picking, so many good choices. If it fits your hand well I almost always recommend Glock. I personally prefer CZ P-01 and SP-01, they are excellent but mags are pricey, hence the earlier mention of Glock. If ya got lots of dough order a Nighthawk or one of my favorites STI Tac 5.0 in Stainless. For daily carry I like Kel Tec P11 or P3AT, so small that you will always carry.

True...you never know who is watching :) It was just a much different process than the process in NY.

It was still probably more of a process than the Constitution says it should be lol. Have fun and go rent some pistols, see what works for ya. Look at the big pic before you make a choice, such as magazine availability/price, available holsters etc. Take a "fighting pistol" class and rent a pistol from whomever is giving the class. Give you a "real" world perspective of a tool working in your hands and how you handle a given pistols manual of arms. Gonna be like jet skis in that "I have this and spent money here so you should do the same".

Yep, I am going to the range and going to take a class or two before I buy one. I like to be an educated gun owner and user. I have a few shotguns and rifles, but I am definitely a hand gun noob, so I will be taking this very seriously.

Well that's where ya go take class my friend. Looks like Gabe and crew are on the road the next few months but you could call and ask if they have a "fighting pistol" course that isn't on the schedule. They are based out of AZ but travel to your area. They may also be able to steer you to someone else that is close by. Or take a rifle/shotgun class and talk pistols during break. Or go stand at a static range and use your imagination lol like a lot of people.

My local range carries these so stopped by to check some out but didn't end up buying any. The price was comparable to Hornady Zombie Max for both 9mm and 380 at $26.99 for 25. Since it's only slightly cheaper and lighter than Critical Defense or Duty, I resisted buying any. Personally, It's priced too high to just send down the range and not proven enough yet to serve in my defensive weapons. Plus, I buy/store/shoot target rounds 100:1 compared to defensive rounds so I would be far more interested in a cheaper, lightweight and less toxic target round at this point and $33.98/50 for 84 gr RN rounds is certainly not cheaper.
