Handle Poles?

Nice Ski! So to clear things up all there poles now come black powder coated(from what I heard from XMetal) but, I also heard that they do not hold up well in salt water for very long? So is that under their warranty?

the powdercoat will not likely be covered under warranty....its just one of the downfalls of ANY part that is powdercoated in the ocean

Spring? I thought your not suppossed to use a spring. However, if you did do you use the stock one because the pole is lighter or would you still need a tighter one?

why are you not "supposed" to use a spring? you can do whatever you want..some like a loose pole, some like it stiff....

personally, I like a "floaty pole"

I personally prefer fairly snug but not floppy or ridgid, a spring can help to unload some of the weight so you don't fight it, but a completely loose or too tite will not work for me. If I decide to let go it should stay put.

I'm having problems attempting no handed rolls, is it because my pole is sprung and not stiff? the pole seems to end up too far away from my hands.

So, maybe I should request having them paint and clear it rather than Powdercoat it? Paint and clear coat would hold up better in the salt right?
powdercoat or base/clearcoat holds up just fine in salt environment. The aluminum needs to be prepped properly to get a good bond! You can't just spray untreated metal and expect the job to last.
