FX-1 hornedogg's FX-1 build

never ridden an Fx-1 how do they ride compared to a square?

I would say much more light/nimble/responsive.

The build is looking great! Ive ordered almost everything i need for my pump swap too, should be working on it on spring break (a week away)
Any reason you went with the cold fusion coupler instead of the stock fx one?

Was cutting the tray out necessary? Im doing the swap next week hopefully but id like to avoid cutting my tray up if at all possible.

Sorry I've been out of town and away from computer for a while. Looks like you've already gotten started but yes I would recommend cutting the try out for the pump swap. Much easier to see what your doing. And you can seal up your thru hull fittings and remove any wet foam that most likely is in there.

Just wanted to say I'm still alive. took a lil' vacation, got to see some cool stuff and participate in a sick wake surf sesh with Mr. Roboto in Fl. Got to ride a nicely equipped RENTAL SJ with a 760/b-pipe/xmetal pole ect.. in paradise!! I'll post more about this later with pics but anyone looking for an awesome stand-up pwc vacation, look no further than X Slide in St. Martin. Fab & Kris are GREAT and they truly have passion for the sport.

Back to the build. I put a layer of glass over the entire bottom of the hull. Now I'm covering up the evidence of all my work with some epoxy paint. I went with refrigerator white. I also found a M8x1.25 'ball rod end' to serve as my trim adjuster knob stop. I just need a M5x0.8 hand knob screw to put in place of the socket head screw pictured.

waiting on clear. The yamaha decal is under a layer of glass. I'm not sure if that's a good idea or not but I did it anyway. Purp areas look rough in this pic because I had been sanding. Once I clean it up and get a few layers of clear epoxy paint on there it should be nice and smooth. Might even get freaky and do a little wet sanding.

looks good! I like the heim joint idea, nice move.

Thanks! Just a tweak on your idea. Actually... overall with this build, biggest part of the R&D was already done by none other than yourself... I wouldn't have had the confidence to cut my ski up without your informative posts.
