That's what I want to do. But the engine will be a xs865 not a 701. Just because I have it and would probably hate myself if I sold it. Lol

I suppose I can afford an AM hull and build it etc. I choose to put my money into my retirement, my cars are paid off, my house nearly paid off, we like to travel, and my wife stays at home with the kid instead of having her work and putting him in daycare. I feel like the Brazilian fisherman in Vumad's story. Its a choice.

On the way to my only regional race in 2008 my wife hit my up with the "I want to stop teaching and be a stay at home mom for a few years (Izzy was about 16 months old). We talked about it, knew money would be tight, our budget was not quiet there yet she said but "I can make it work"........ I knew there was no point in talking her out of it. She was a High School Math teacher. There is nothing worse you can do to a kid as a teacher as being there when your heart is not. So, with that I knew my racing Career was either on vacation or semi retirement. It was a choice. I am ready for her to go back to work. Not just so I can race or get a new ski. More to it. But life is about choices.

I think the bottom line is no matter what you do if you set your priorities correctly you can have anything you want. If your willing to make sacrifices and be patient anyone can do it. Does everyone need an AM hull....? NO. There is nothing wrong with a SN superjet. Have you ever seen anyone unhappy on a stand up jetski??? NO. That being said me and my wife make decent money. I run an auto repair shop and my wife is a finance manager and the man toy store (power-sports shop). Do we make payments on a 2016 superjet that we could get for cost....NO! luckily my whole family is into skis. My wife rides and loves it, my 3 year old loves riding on the x2. It comes down to priorities, yes we have a small fund that gets bigger every day for a AM hull. For me it came down to cutting my redbull intake (not kidding) and packing lunches every day. The money saved is insane! Plus you want something now but if you keep waiting and be patient something better comes out the next year anyways. We try to keep our fun money completely seperate and from side jobs and other things so it takes time.

If your real life aint right you got no business screwin around with toys. And if your mom and dad are your sponsors milk the s*** out for the rest of us that couldnt haha

lol what im sayin is if you find the right lady you can get whatever you want cause generally your not the only instigator

lol and yes i have bought her 2 bikes in a year haha first a honda 150R which she outgrew in like 2 days and now shes on a 250f

pshh if you can stay away from the ladies, you can afford any power sport lol.
idk,at $20 to $50 each time,it ends up being much cheaper than full time but then at my age my maintenance needs are less with each passing day so more gets to the skis.i still get my cake and get to eat it too! figuratively only that is:)

I worked 4 jobs when I was 8. By the time I was 9 I sold my paper route for 250k. I am so well established and make the best financial decisions. The only thing I like more than making money is telling everyone on the Internet how much money I make.
pics or it didn't happen.

I got work as a union pipeliner two months after graduating high school, saved all my money while on the road over the summer and bought a nice used ski when i got home

Like the title says how do you afford it? I feel like everyone on this site with a am hull makes over 100k a year. I'm not trying to be rude or get into anyone buisness I just simply wanna know how you guys afford it.

Like I'm trying to get into am hull game. I'm 21 and I got lucky to get a sub contractor job for a hydro-geologist testing water wells around california. I make pretty good money avg about 7k a month and almost double that in the summer months. Only about 2.5k of it goes to house payment and all other bills.
This is an expensive sport to buy a hull I have to save half my money for 3 months just to get a bare hull. How do you do it?

Look at my sig. Now when I say screw you [with a smile of course, don't get all offended!], you understand why. I've got maybe $4k total into both ski's. That's a months worth of money to you.

I bought my AM hull and a motor on 18 month, interest free credit cards. This can be dangerous for some people, but I had a plan and I am now credit card debt free, and paid it off months before the interest free period ended.

And probably got cash back or some kind of sign up bonus! =)

Side work. I don't touch my regular paycheck to do Jetski stuff.

However I part out 5-15 skis a year. Wrench on customers skis, fiberglass, turf work, etc.

As for needing an aftermarket hull....it's not needed. A Superjet does just fine if you put in the time and effort to up your riding skills.

I wish my house payment and all my bills was only 2.5K a month.
