I think any hulls should be allowed or just fiberglass and I also think anyone should be able to compete even if you are pro
How is this different than Amateur or Pro now??????????? They compete on ANY hull they want to................ The point of this thread is about competing on Stock Type Hulls and limited power plants...... The old rules were fine. OEM hulls. 800cc motors..........

800cc is going to be cheap? Just look what happened when 900cc was the new comp class. The prices on 900 motors cost more than 1000 and 1100cc motors. Same thing will happen for 800cc platforms. supply. demand. think about it

Dag. I competed from 2004 - 2008 with either a TLR Ported 61X at 83mm, Then LPW 61X Bigbore @ 84.5mm. This is cheap. You can pick up a Maniac Ported cylinder with pistons for 650.00. The 900cc motors they have come out now, TPE900 and the XS900rr are specifically designed motors.. These are not off the shelf products that either company keeps in stock. They have found the perfect bore size and crank stroke to get the most power out of them.

800cc stroker would still make great power.
It would be a fun ski to ride as well
Bogart showed up at APBA Nationals in 2006 or 2008 with 785cc Lamey that Chuckie squeezed everything out of it. Purely legal and purely pissed off power.

But for this topic 800cc using stock 61x or 62T cylinders.

What about the polaris engines, Or will you have to keep the stock engine for that hull

Jace Forest...BRAP!
Probably not, AM prop would be fine.
Again, the purpose of this class it to keep the cost low. Is it fair if a 16yr old kid who worked all last summer to buy a ski for $2,000 shows up to compete against a guy with a 785cc stroker ski with total loss, full spec carbs, mag pump????
You take the opportunity for money buying skill out if it an just let the rider shine. There are 2 other classes people can join if they want to do that

I totally agree, im just asking the questions to help sort out the rules. I see this from a different point of view from other people. I see it as how far can i go and still be legal.

You need to write in the rules s/s style engines only, oem crankshaft. 800cc limit.
That takes out aftermarket cylinders but still allows porting, it also gets rid of light weight cranks

It would be nice to race against Pastrana, but it would also be nice to think you at least have a small shot at winning. It'd be nice to have amateur and pro rankings. Just like stock and limited classes might race together in a moto, they are ranked separately.

This would also open up the venue for some old school riders as well as pro riders could show capability of handling all tricks .....
which I think "real" pro riders should be capable of......
Hell we had a square 701 last year in Havasu and everyone had a blast doing old school stuff on it in between the competition stress.....this idea is great !!

there's only two rules...

1) you gotta hit sick booters
2) you gotta bump Ice Cube

but seriously it should just be two rules 800cc + Oem hull.

it is an exhibition (begininer?) class right?

I said I was in, but now I'm already ruled out. I have a 74 x 82mm 781cc TL + Mag.
Sure, it has some balls, but its not like i can really even ride it that good.

This class would need the most entries possible competing on a wide range of setups. because when i get beat by guys on 550s, 650s, 750s, ect.. then we may be able to lose the "parts = place" mentality that plagues this sport.
