As I sit on my sofa with a sore back reading this thread it really makes me think I need a new hobby.

Those are some wicked stories... I'm lucky so far but dont get very crazy. Floated out of my tray jumping some yacht wakes one day and then bashed my shins down the edge of the tray, almost sunk my teeth into the chin pad but not to bad. Other than that the normal bruises. May change this summer as im finally putting some footholds and other more freestyle mods on to start getting wilder.

Kudos to the start of this form it keeps a reality check on us that were not unbreakable. I have loaded a good friend of mine into a life flight bird when a handle bare went into his forehead. 93 screws into his scull and lots of stitches. One millimeter away from death. But it's an addiction. Rodeo and skis my friends. Ill always be a beachbum cowboy. Till the day I die Happy brapppps this year. And be safe

Only been four times and so far my elbows and knees are bruised to hell. Is there anything you can do for ear protection without a full helmet? Would earplugs make any difference? Also what helmets are you wearing?

That spot kills me. It reminds me of a paper cut. Lol I can take pain like no other but when it comes to paper cuts I'm a little girl.

It didn't feel great that's for sure.. I must have hit something serious cuz blood squirted out like 3 feet

Does this even count as an "injury"? although it is really funny because i end up with the same thing, also get a gnarly rash under the arms from the vest rubbing.

It's definitely a injury LOL. Pain wise I would rather completely blow my knee out again instead of having a bad sunburn. I can walk on a busted leg but can't move when I'm burnt. I'm the biggest sissy when I have a burn

I always wear water shoes (with laces) every time I ride. I ride fresh water and you never know what you will find at the bottom of a boat ramp or on the way to it. I have had trash get sucked into my pump before and had to turn the just ski over on an unfamiliar bank. You never know what is under the water.
A bit of carnage I can pass on is a blood infection called schewanella alge(forgive my spelling). This disease or infection took my fathers life one summer . I thrives in stagnant water in warm weather. It enters the body through open wounds our sores. Just make sure you keep yourself healthy and always protect yourself.

i bought my first superjet rn from palm springs a day before my week trip to lake powell. got to the lake and rode the ski all day and got comfortable.... to comfortable. if anybodys been to lake powell before its a stand up riders dream when the tour boat comes around. the wake is atleast 4 ft. so i went for it and landed wrong hyper extending my left knee. tore my acl and went for surgery the next day in utah medical plaze

1st time on my sj in the surf. Didn't get my feet in footholds going over a wave.Supermaned it and came crashing down my chest to back of ski. Took my breath away for a minute......not bad. Went to stand up and my chest ain't feelin right.Hung out awhile get back home and off to doc.Not bad 2 cracked ribs and 2 cracked and displaced ribs.Guess I'm on a short vacation from riding.lol But can't wait till I'm back on that sj.

It takes big balls to barrel roll off a boat wake. Well I guess I'm halfway there..... My left one is HUGE right now! I rotated 3/4 or more but landed nose down and hard. I out of my footstraps, shot up under the pole and one of my boys was in the wrong place at the wrong time. I'll spare ya the pics. Think 'plum' size and color.

Jeez. Groin injuries hurt the most to read.

Not so much of an injury as an annoyance. Anyone get carpel tunnel like pain from their finger throttle? To the point it hurts to ride.

Looking at changing to a different design, just not certain which.
