I don't have any horror stories but I did tear my mcl and fractured my knee cap from subbing in shallow water.
Also had the tray hit me in the head from a failed V-wake BR almost knocked me out. And getting hit off my ski by a friend on a couch. ImageUploadedByTapatalk1350323572.806803.jpg

P.s it happened in August and my knee still hasn't healed.

Busted eardrum- always wear helmet now!

Multiple knee injuries (ACL, miniscus) from flat landing overrotated flips

Walmart (sucks I know) carries some earplugs that you form to your ear. Kind of a pliable wax type of stuff. I had ear troubles and started using those. I usually wear a helmet, but there are times when I just wear the ear plugs. No more pain, and there is no way it could get forced inside of your ear by hitting the water (it basically fills in the outside of your ear).

This happens 2 weeks ago my mate was riding surf and tried his first barrel roll

He got flung out and smacked his calf muscle on the gunnels

After that he tried a flip but because his leg was sore he let go this ended up with him having a knock out feeling face down in the water was using a non cga vest Lucky we were around to save him in time

His calf was super swollen so we sent him to the hospital because of the concussion

Turned out that was fine but his leg nt so good he had a massive hematoma /compression syndrome

After 3 surgeries this is his leg now

He was within 1hour of loosing his leg if it wasn't for us being worried about the concussion he would of still tried to ride or just go home and chill

So guys get silly things like this checked out

Also the guys at race tech hooked him up with a awesome burn cga vest for safety reasons we nearly lost a good mate

dodgin' bass boats
gnarly fo sho... damn.

I used my ski vests riding for a few years then bought a pwc vest (jet pilot apex) a few months before I had a collision with a bass boat. The trolling motor mounted on the front of the boat hit me right in the chest. Somehow that's one of the few things I can remember clearly about the impact. It cut a fairly deep chunk out of the front of my vest thru a tour coat right at my sternum. My previous vests weren't even an inch thick and no where near as dense. Also a witness from shore said he saw me fly up in the air and land in the water. He told me he was thought I was dead because I was silent for around 20 seconds. I woke up yelling (on my back) and saw the boat idling back toward me. My vest saved my ass !!

Damn. Crazy stuff. Ive only chipped my front teeth and got some cuts and bruises.

Its awesome to see people get knocked down, and get back on the skis still after they heal.

HORNEDOG79, im assuming your the dude that got nailed in the channel, and got his arm broken? What ever happened with the legal outcome of that? Did you seriusoly have to pay fines and damages?

twisted ankle - just landed awkwardly
broken nose - blacked eyes - nose stab hit the bottom
broken ribs - superman and landed on tray
broken thumb - marriot throw, caught it but hell..........
compound tripple fracture of tibia and fibia - fook that hurt feet were firmly in footholes but ski twisted on landing. 18 months = NO SKI, 18 months "taking it easy" - now ive had IM nail removed and ts building back up to strength.

And to think i jetski as a safer option than motorbikes

I've been pretty lucky compared to a lot of you guys.
2 concussions - One with helmet on my old RN and one without helmet on the daughters B1. Stupid....
Messed up wrist nose stabbing the wifes couch lol! Still not healed and gets sharp pains occasionally.
Messed up foot on my very first river boat wake. Over rotated a stab. MUCH more air than I was used to, over rotated and landed wrong. Still hurts.
Tennis elbows, but they've healed up nicely.
My stuff is all sissy lala stuff.
