Could be coming in from the pole tubes. It rained on my ski a few days ago and there was at least 3 galons of water in it.. soo im going to throw a gopro inside to see where the water comes from
I think it is coming from them too, I wiggled them around and they would definitely let water in.

New development in the saga of not running. Has spark in both holes. Looks like the front carb has an issue. Pours a ton of fuel in when running. I also blew on the tank check valve and that forced a bunch of fuel into the front carb. Here is a video:

Needle and seat stuck open?? Remove and inspect carb. Also in reference to your hood, did you adjust your hood latch pin? I set mine so that I have to push down on the hood with a degree of force to get the pin in place. This way I am firmly compressing the seals together in a uniform fashion. For pole breather tubes I used raider 701/760 air tubes they were a pain to get in place and seem like they wont fit with the water box but the tighter the better when its wetter...

I have one rebuild kit and one more on order. I will be taking it apart and checking it out sometime this week.

The Krash tubes seem to let a lot of water in. My hood felt tight as I had to push on it. I need to tighten it up and see.

Did you check the return restrictors for both carbs? If you are running separate lines to each carb and those carbs were setup in series originally, you will have different fuel pressure working on your needle in each carb. Fuel pressure on the needle makes a big difference. Although with that much fuel, your needle is probably stuck.

^this. And check popoff while your at it, not uncommon for identical gram springs to give different popoff readings. Also make sure one of the needle arms isn't bent up further than the other. For the hood seal lay a dollar on the seal and latch down the hood. If you can easily pull the dollar out its not sealing, do this in multiple locations around the hood.

I might try taking the carbs apart after work. Rebuild kit is on the way, will probably have to order a pop off gauge. Nice idea on the dollar on the hood seal, I took a photo (that I don't have right now) of the front fiberglass on the hood and it bows up a bit so I know that is one of my issues.

And I just have to say that Texas Parks and Wildlife really disappointed me today. I mean, I figured it would be meh because it is government. But damn, I was told it is not possible to work with a ski without a title. Well no poop lady, I want to get a title from you first. Then she freaked and started being quite rude when I was trying to explain home built, pieces, etc etc. Stupid people who just show up for a paycheck and don't know their ass from their feet.

Homebuilt?! That looks like a Kawasaki 550 to me.

Seriously though, PM some of the other members from TX, they may be able to help you get it registered.

Think I found the issue...needle was indeed very hung in the front carb. You can gear hear the raspiness in the video when I push it in and out. Whatever is in there seems to have passed. Second carb rebuild kit is in the mail.

Checked the restrictors, looks like neither of them were drilled.

I'd say most if not all aftermarket hulls do not come with titles or MCOs. They aren't full skis, just hulls and I think there is a lot of Govmnt regulation involved in titling a complete ski/boat.

There are quite a few members on here from TX who have various am hulls. Reach out to one of them and see what they had to do to register their hulls.

So when you buy a hull from Krash, or even a fully built ski, they don't come with titles?
The manufacturer can only issue titles when they are fully built turn key skis by the manufacturer. Krash will soon have a ready to ride fully krash manufactured freestyle flatwater hull featuring the 997 motor. Pennsylvania was really easy to get it titled as a "home built" but you cant try to say that you built it. Just explain the details

So I gave up on my carbs, they are way nastier than expected. Just ordered some replacement 44s. Discovered the front needle was hung open and the rear needle was stuck closed. Jeez....

yes chix those look like the salt crustacean carbs I had from a salt bathed seadoo! you're going to notice a big difference, considering you've basically been driving that ski on around 1 carb.... whats the delivery date on the carbs?

As far as the title thing is concerned, I get that alot of the AM hulls dont come with titles, especially when theyre just hulls and not r2r..
but, lets say for example, when you buy a r2r Rickter from blowsion, or from rrp/rickter directly (if possible) do those come with titles, or are they "for closed course/rec use only" and just come with a bill of sale?

Ummmmm weve all seen much worse come off perfectly running salt stricken skis. Clean em up, make sure needle moves freely and finish this saga already

CCCCCLEAN.jpg SSSSSSALT.jpg CCCCCLEAN.jpg SSSSSSALT.jpg to be clear, I meant you'll notice a difference with a new set compared to those if you dnt clean them inside and out..
for example, as ajmps1 mentioned, look at these crustaceans i had, but they were all mechanically functional. i actually used these crusty ones for testing because these cleaner ones made the ski run like yours! the one carb was leaking, etc. i put these crusties on and the ski ran fine..they obviously werent a long term solution.

Please dont do that, you can just as easily adjust the threaded pin to tighten things up

Not really...I went down that road and found I could not get the hood to seal to stop all ( I mean all ) water coming in. Since going to the bolt with wing nut my bilge rarely spits any water out while ridding. The bolt and wing nut make it 10x easier and more secure to seal your hood. If you like fighting with your hood then use the pin and latch..it does work just not up to my standards.

As far as breather tubes go I use this set of vacuum hoses from Home Depot . It goes to the top of my pole and to the bottom of my hull. You have to silicone the crap out of it around the pole bracket. These hoses bend real easy right over the top of your waterbox and down to the bottom of the hull. I run a 900 with 49 carbs and have no choking problems as of yet for surf riding.
