Grom battery definitely not enough CCA. Will have to check what auto parts stores have tomorrow.

RRP trim still janky and touches the hull, but with modifications to fit it is better than it was below.

I did a little research this morning and the Duralast EXT9 seems like a good option locally. Seems like a lot of people use them, but didn't see tank mounted batts so wasn't sure if it would fit. I'll take the tank just in case.

Yeah the EXT9 is the same as the deka, just different stickers I think. The deka is the cheapest but not in stock at the autoparts store. Same battery just like $20 more to get it in store. But I use the duralast on my superjets for the same reason as you (ready to go to the lake and need a battery from the auto parts store right then) It will work just fine to crank your motor. Ready to see videos of this ski in the water!!
Glad you got the trim on correctly vs. your first picture. Its a freestyle build, always seems like you have to modify parts to get them to work just right.

This might have been mentioned already, but with how those carbs were setup, make sure you check that the return restrictor wasn't drilled out on the rear carb. I would bet that it is. In which case, you will want to run a jet on your return line.

Ah interesting thought. How would I go about checking if the stock restrictor is still there?

Stayed up until 4:30am this morning and finished the Krash. I finally rode it. Brought a tear to my eye this morning when the engine fired up instantly for the first time after sitting on a shelf for two years.
I had the idea to buy a freestyle ski about a year ago now. Bit the bullet and went for it May 27th 2016. Today marks almost 9 months since the official start of the project.

I have so much to say as well as photos and videos, but I will wait to post all that for when I am not so tired.

The good thing is after a rough build...riding it for the first time made it all worth it.

Told ya! These hulls ride so amazing. You might also want to put your pole pad on the hood

Why on the hood and not attached to the pole? If it's on the pole it's always in the right spot when you adjust it cut your tubes down

Hahaha, it isn't staying there. That was part of my, oh fk it and zip tie it to the pole literally minutes before riding it. Kinda like the battery...can't get away from my zip tie drifting roots.

I'm going to upload bomb my YouTube channel this evening with the Part 7 Struggle , 8 Finish and 9 Ride. Didn't stop to take many photos, but the videos will show the last 2 weeks of work on the project. Editing and uploading as I type this so y'all stay tuned for that today.

I have some issues so the ride videos won't be too special, knee was also hurting too. I have to take the ski apart again to fix the electrical system and tune the carbs. Have an intermittent issue with the wiring that causes it to not start. Jiggle on the wires and it will start. Uhg. Think I'll just go JSS for the ebox because this one is janky.

Also planning on doing a comprehensive review thread for people who are interested in buying a Krash with my thoughts and such since this thread is more of the build process. Also so people don't have to wade through 30 pages to figure out the ownership of one haha.

This one is kinda depressing. The part of my 'vacation' where I was having issues getting the engine aligned and losing parts. It gets better after this.

After 4 hours of sleep and a bum knee I had a great time riding this project for the first time.

Very stable. Takes on water like no other with scupper only. Didn't have time to install my bilge. Started running on on e cylinder because of water splash getting into the rear cylinder. Talking to JSS right now about a Cold Fusion ebox build. Love the 1100 box my husband just got from JSS.

Very much a freeride ski at the moment with my Group K 845cc. Exhaust needs to be dried out and engine tuned better, it had been sitting on a shelf for two years before starting yesterday. Impressive, not even a carb rebuild. Looking to get the flush hull ride plate/extension for more flickability. Need to cut my nozzle now that the trim works.

A lot of work ahead, but ecstatic to get it on the water.
Want to get it all working right and everything installed then take to the surf. With this non PV engine and the way the hull is set up right now it would be very at home in the ocean.

I commend you! You are the shizz.. I know all bout them late nite early morning tinkerings and then can't start it or use power tools until the next day Bc of noise! But yes cannot believe how much you got done..
When you said it took on a lot of water with the scupper only, how much water was in there and after how much time of being in the water? If it got into one cylinder, it must've been up to your carbs, right?
Also, when you first took the hood off, was there water in the bottom of the hull?
