ksarge's superjet build

Stripped 3 of the 4 jet cover screws in the carb today. Arggggggggg. Got 2 out by slotting the heads with a dremel but need to drill the head off one. Guess I'm giving JSS a call for some sweet stainless ones

I always used one of the screw driver hammer impact thingys to get those screws off. Of grab the heads with vice grips.

X2....also just use a regular screwdriver and tap the end with a hammer while twisting..helps to have a vise or another set of hands for that trick though. :wavey:

I tried an impact but it didn't work. Sometimes I use a small cutoff wheel to slot them.

No way to get the vise grips around them, they're the countersunk ones that hold down the jet cover.

Just got back from sears. 4 new stainless slotted machine screws in there now. Good to go.

Well I think I'm done. Only thing left to do now is put the watcon hoodseal on (really nice piece too BTW and only 22 bucks)

Thanks for everyone's help

She's definately not the best looking girl at the prom but she'll get the job done just fine for now. Should have an girdled head before riding season starts

That pipe looks good in there..how's it sound? Looks like the holes in the head don't line up with the mount tho..You find a lord mount yet? Lmk if not i was on a site the other day that had jetski pipe replacement parts and a seperate lord section with a few different sizes. I will try and find it and send you the link. Lookin good tho!!!

It sounds great, really deep and rumbly at idle. It's solid as hell with just the manifold triangle mount and I've heard of people running it without both of them so I'm not gonna lose sleep over it. The manifold one is tight but fits with some persuassion. Plus there'll be a girdled head on there most likely before it even hits the water, so I'll probably just run the bottom mount but might tap the head for the top lord. Pro-tec sells all the replacement parts.

That exhaust mani is a b*tch to get on and off though, but aren't they all haha.

Alright, little twister in here. Today my Dad was commenting on how ugly my ski looked and asked me why I couldn't just spend a little money and actually do it up real nice. Originally, I completely disregarded the idea and told him it was staying flat black and maybe I'd do it next winter. But then I just kept thinking about it, and decided a nice paint job would nice.

The hull, pole, and nosepiece will be black, of course. Back in september/october, I really wanted to do the topdeck and hood either white or candy apple red or something, but went with flat black cause it's cheap and forgiving (and straight bad a$$)

Over the next couple of weeks I'm gonna prep it, do a little work to make the hood absolutely perfect, and touch up the fuel fill area a little bit.

Sucks I just turfed it a couple weeks ago, but oh well, guess I'll have to do a good job masking it.

So, anybody know anyone or any shops in pennsylvania that will shoot a primer, a couple coats of color, and some clear at a reasonable price? Even if someone with some knowledge with paint could just show me how to do it I'd be happy to pay you.

Suprisingly I'm actually pretty pumped on this idea:drive:
