Lee should of been here MUCH sooner than Wed. night if he was concerned about his new ride and the World finals..IMO
The Japanese show a month before the WF and most other competitors 2 weeks before.

Let's not kid ourselves here...we all love the drama, we just hate to admit it. This stuff happens to the best of us.

If I was the number 1 flat water guy in the world, and had a sponsored ride...I would certainly think twice about riding a ski that wasn't 100%. You look like a dick if you don't ride, and you're called a dick if you ride poorly and blame it on the boat. It's a tough situation...but, I'm thinking this was always going to happen. Just a pity it was at WF.

you guys are tools. "who doesn't test their boats 6 months prior to worlds?" i have pics on my home computer of xmetals kong hull with spray paint and bondo marks on the pump inlet from last year. :):):):) is never perfect. i don't know who's right or wrong in this deal, but seriously. Why would lee take his time to fly to the US, work all night, try to qualify and decide not to compete after working all night if the hull wasn't what was promised.

we are never gonna know what happened, as the man said, 2 opinions and then the truth, lets face facts, eme and stone were on the way out, stone says hes gonna be on his own boat next year, theres no way that he could start development now and have it for next years finals, he must have had it started already and knowing that he wouldnt be too worried about promoting another brand and was possibly looking for any excuse to get out! im sure neither party are completly inocent, as the other dude says 2 big egos!

yep im the guy who saw it all go down.

Mind you lee was not held to working with us all night long, he was able to leave to the hot tub and sleep when he wanted.

The rubber flaps do not come standard on the aerial 8, it was an experiment for the larger pump he had to have. In fact the ski is amazing, Breaks loose on turns very well and is insanley bouyant. Backflips with ease and really whips ya on rolls.

If you have any questions please ask, i would rather clear it up with you before any rumor is started.

The topdeck looks unchanged?
From pics of the bottom it doesn't look that much different either?
Can you explain what's diff between my q8 and the aerial 8

Something I'm having a bit of a hard time comprehending (it happens a lot!): How has Lee been able to practice for Finals at all? :dunno:
He's been in Australia for months now, riding Rickters for Seaworld in surf. When/how did he practice for Finals?
I understand he's a prodigy and a hell of a rider, but you'd think even he needed a bit more practice on a hull he'd never ridden before after riding nothing but surf on a completely different hull for months prior.
And then show up to Finals three days before the Sunday routine?

???

I talked to Lee and asked him the same thing, he said that the Sea World show is flat water, and they have a cove on the lake that they practice at, and they're allowed to use their personal skis to practice on, just not in the show.

To me it seems like he showed up and expected everything to be perfect, this is the real world and stuff happens. I just think it shows character how he handled it, not well. It seemsd like EME did what they could in the time they were given. I mean he showed up with little time to practice, shame on him. The videos looked like the ski was performing well enough to me. It's not like he hit the throttle to throw a flip and landed on his head. Yea conditions weren't great but suck it up and ride.

Being #1 is a lot of pressure and I am sure there were many there just to see him ride, he should have dropped the ego and rode for the people and his sponsors.

I don't blame EME or any company to bring new products to the table. It's a perfect arena to do so. just my 02.

I think perhaps the boat was running fine but just did not equal to the japanese big huge air and huge pumps. They tinkered and tinkered with the pump setup which just made things worse and eventual time and frustration led to their destruction. Over competitness and lack of preparation on both parties could have been their downfall. my .03 cents

yes the skis look similar...yet they perform completely different. The q8 is well the q8 you have seen the past few years with deep chines and the front end V. The Aerial 8 has a majority of the changes down below with the front end V redesigned to add bouyancy. Chines were cut like that of an octane, pump is further back rails are wider. and it still has sky pieces. Little longer tray. Cosmetically up top some lines were changed.

Performs very very well infact.
