Keep us posted on how those end up working for you. Most of the fast racers from Europe don't run front sponsons so I'm challenging myself to go without them as long as possible. I personally don't like the lift that rear sponsons create when mounted in the back.

We tested front sponsons extensively on the sj when i worked at Pro-Watercraft. Long story short, if you run the OEM nozzle, unmodified (pointed upwards) AND the front sponsons, the ski will lift too much on starts and coming out of corners, regardless of sponson placement on the hull. This ultimately slows you down as you spend precious time trying to get the nose back down/under control before driving to the next turn. Swapping to the older leveled nozzle alleviated this issue immensely and they worked extremely well. The ski rode very level afterwards.

Rear sponsons weren't a make or break item, but they did increase rear grip. We never had too many issues with them lifting the rear, but that could be credited to the way we had our handlepoles set up and the lifter wedges we were using.

Great data, thanks. In my case my nozzle is angled down from stock. I hated my ski with the nozzle at the factory angle.

My lifting experience came from testing on the SXR. I rode much better without rears. Maybe it's just how I ride. I haven't had grip issues on this ski yet but I'll keep rears in mind if she starts sliding for some reason.

I agree that putting rear sponsons on an SXR causes the rear end to lift noticeably. I haven't added the rears to mine yet because they havent proven necessary just quite yet. I am also running a leveled older sj nozzle with a prowatercraft rideplate and i enjoy the handling

Thanks for the info user_error! I'm liking the handling right now I figure the tubbies will help it hook even harder. Wasn't sure about the rear sponsons but figured they can be removed easy enough if I don't like them.

I agree the ride plate is amazing!

I have rode blowsion ones on my ski then hopped off on an identical 2014 super jet same mods and there was little to no difference.

Blowsion looks better harder to install $400

Pro watercraft don't look as good but are much easier to install. Since you don't need to remove anything in the hull. $200

Their ride plate is on point as well. Complimented with a jet dynamics intake.

The prowatercraft ride plate is amazing. I've put blowsion tubbies on skis before and that was a pita, they don't contour to the hull well. These ones were a breeze! Fit was perfect, I think they are pretty well made and plenty sturdy

haven't been out with them yet, but does anyone have a clean 90-07 reduction nozzle (metal not plastic)??
Why not just notch your stock L-bracket and tilt your nozzle down? That will let you fine tune the nozzle angle. Stock is about +4°. I'm running mine about +1.5° to +2°. Anything closer to 0° doesn't work for me personally but I'm also not running front sponsons... yet.

That's not to take away from @Harbor sending you a nozzle. Many of us just notch our brackets since it's free and relatively easy.

I like to have parts to play with :)
