Looking for 1st dirt bike.

If you have to weighten the flywheel on a 450, you should have bought a 250!

I'm not talking about me... I never have weighted down my flywheels. I own a 250 and a 450. And have had MANY MANY in the past. I'm just saying that is one way to make a race bike into a bike that is ridable for a beginner. And once you get used to it, instead of selling your turd trail bike and buying a better one, just take the weight off.

Not only does flywheel weight tame down the power, it allows it to turn lower rpm's without stalling as easy. It helps give the engine momentum.

Just go test ride one man... when you get to the point where you get more and more aggressive, you will really appreciate such a light bike with awesome reliable power. It's an awesome feeling :D

The 200 is enough bike to haul anyone's fat ass around (Not saying you are fat, I have no idea) I am just saying.

My thoughts are that any bike I get on will feel correct because I have never been on a dirt bike only big azz Harley’s. I will look into these 200 and see what I think. I am 185 5’ 10” FYI. LOL

So, you rode up to your local watering hole....... Please tell me you did not Drink anything.

I didn't go there to admire the motif...

Since you are concerned w/ my welfare, I drank a "Dead Guy" and a "Sam Adams Oktoberfest" in about an hour... I was soooooo wasted I could not see straight...??? seriously, are you for real??

X2, Mark, you will love that bike. A 200 will be enough power, just getting up a steep 75ft dirt mound would be tough in 3rd gear, you will have to keep in it 2nd... he he he

How much did you give for your 2005? I am looking into a 2005 listed at 3400 but blue book is 3100 and it has been for sale for some time.

I paid 3500 for my 2005 250EXC. You should be able to talk em down to 3000

Yep thats the plan, and Katie is excited about this also we are looking for two bikes to terrorize the town and country side.

When I am driving home now I am looking for places to enter the woods and get down to the river banks. LOL We live about 2 miles from woods fields and rivers so I think the plated KTM is our way to go.

What 2 stroke oil do you run in these and % and do you need to run 93 octane? Dang do I sound like a newbie..........

I only run 93 octane and good oil... They recommend MotorX, but it's too expensive for my blood, I use Maxim, Klotz, Yamalube any good oil like that..

I always scan the side of roads now.. he he he. It does get a tad addicting!!!

I run Amsoil synthetic (Dominator or Interceptor) for no particular reason. I'd use the Benol I run in my ski, but I hate cleaning the power valve once it's gunked up.

it was getting gummy from using r-50 or benol, so I switched to a lighter synthetic. I have a 380 though, the pv is more of a bitch to deal with. I cleaned it once, before I got a replate and top end done, and since i've stuck with amsoil and there has been no accumulation of gunk at all really.
