low rise handlebars

adapters + fat bars = $ and a cut up chin pad in most cases with a struglin rubbing trim cable. 7/8ths made the right way would save us all $ and make someone else some decent $

alright guys it definatly can be easily done i am waiting on my bars and i had a little girl yesterday so i wont get pics up for a coule of days all you need is fat bar adaptors for a motorcrosss bike machine or grind the half circle of alloy from the bottom go and buy some ss nyloc nuts and a longer (5mm) set of ss screws for your turn plate grind a little of the side of the nuts so they drop in the fat bar adaplors and you are all set just bolt your new rrp bars up i did this with a x metal plate if you do it with a bent bar plate you will have to move the bolt holes so they are straight but thats a job for someone else mine is gonna work sweet pics soon

Heres some pics of my set up.

Bars are down hill mountain bike 2" rise, 1 1/4" clamp diameter and 1/8" wall thickness (so they are plenty strong!)

Clamps and turn plate I fabricated myself, Water cut from Aluminmum plate and Anodized.

They are so adjustable and feel so comfortable (comming from a Dirt bike background) I never felt ski bars felt right. I had to machine up some 3/8" long spacers that fit under the chin pad to raise it slightly at the back so the bars don't clash with the chin pad when turned.

Total cost US$80

I have been using them for about 8 months and havn't looked back!

Cheers

Tim

all those riser adapters do is cost more $ and make bars to close to chin pad in turns and trim cables to close to chin pad, leaving little clearance for the start stop button. I cant believe no one has come up with a simple azz 7/8 risor bar that works with EVERYONES current xmetal/umi turn plates.
