I don't think that last one is legal, but I've seen it done. None of those options really look good in my opinion.

Working with Jeremy to get some custom numbers, just need to figure out the design to them. I'm thinking hollow characters. Too bad the state reg sticker is so damn ugly.

If you want to be fully legal, check the spacing. Florida requires the space of a letter (i forget the exact measurement).

It also specifies the distamce from the bond rail and the location of the reg sticker. Lots of people do get away with it, but i onky mention it because lots of people dont know.

Of your prssented options, 2 is my favorite and i dont think 4 is worth pushjng your luck.

Ideally I would want to put them below the bond rail, but I've been cited for that in the past. My favorite I think is side of the hood because it covers a slight weave defect, but I'm not really sure. Least favorite is the pole and I prefer not to give LE anything to harass me about, so 3 and 4 are out. That leaves top or side of the hood.

I was going to put in a random vote for under the bond rail, but I guess that is out.

I guess posts like these make me appreciate our local lake patrols because they dont mess with us for registration or fire extinguisher issues. One day we were riding at the launch and no one had a fire extinguisher and like 2 out of 4 skis had no numbers and werent registered and they pretty much told us as long as we respected the lake and the officers when it came to real issues, they would leave us be.

That's awesome. It's half and half out here. I ride a creek/lake that drains into galveston bay. So at any point I could have one of three different city officers on their boats, the sheriff, and rarely a TPWD officer (only seen one once at the ramp and he was a huge dick). Most of the city officers are really cool as long as you're respectful, but they will cite you if you act like an ass. Sheriffs aren't as cool. I was tuning my SN when I first got it and the old reg numbers were below the bond line. He cited me for that and told me he doesn't know why I am wasting my time with that ski, to just trash it and get a new one. I'm very respectful/diplomatic with police, so usually I don't have issues like that. He was just an asshole.

In other news I'm pretty excited my new beach cart is shipping soon. I've been looking around forever for one that I liked at a decent price point. Finally found the low boy by Broncochris. Exactly what I have been searching for.

Also have to consider if you go somewhere other than your normal spot. For instance if you go early or stay late to the Daytona freeride you have to be completely legal. It's cool that Matt doesn't have to deal with the nonsense but I've had an officer tell me he would arrest me if I brought my disabled ski to a beach that doesn't allow boats (he told me to wait for Seattle chest deep). Who knows what kind of crap you may have to deal with.

I agree. I try to obey the law as much as possible. It just isn't worth the hassle not to. I still cringe thinking about those reg numbers on the ski though. I wonder if I could get away with cutting the letters/numbers in a different weave of carbon and laying them up in the mold in front of the visual layer and under the clear coat. 2x2 twill numbers laid over 4x4 back ground. Still have to deal with that sticker though.

Get custom printed numbers from a place that does vehicle wraps. maybe they can even print a brightly colored outline on clear vinyl.

Yeah unfortunately in tx there suppose to go just above bond line towards front. Don't think you have to have a certain spacing but sure they have to b a certain size
