FX-1 making the first Tom21 carbon fx1

I think that if these hulls go for a reasonable price they will be in high demand because everyone knows how most people are trying to get there hands on an aftermarket hull. I also think this was a great hull to replicate because of how fun and "freestylie" it already is. If you setup a good brand and advertise the hull well I think you have a good chance at selling.

Another thing you could do if you wanted to be ahead of the game: if you have enough time and money you could have top/bottom decks already laid up and ready for deposits on hull builds.

To me, the financing thing sounds great and it will work for a lot of people, but it will create a few problems with a few people over the years. So I would prepare yourself for a few headaches. I like the idea of you building the ski and having a waiting list for people who want one and the top person gets it.

This project is keeping my old FX-1 from getting hacks and grafts. After 18yrs on it, kinda hard to cut on it, but I'm slowly getting reinforce done.
I can't wait, been drooling over Tom's concept and idea for this for over a year now. So happy this is moving along!

This should be the best thing since Yamaha made FX-1's

Good to see toms still at it! I bought a fixed steer hood a few years back from him and was very pleased with the product and service.

fixed steer is not out of the question but first I have to make this ski, my x2 and a few other projects.

tomorrow we are working on the prep for the top deck. we will be making it probably the weekend after next.

in the meantime, I will be working on gathering up the rest of the materials I need for infusion.

Awww snap, I want one, you gonna reinforce these at all so that you can use the hull in surf? Also are you gonna install footholds in it?

Hull design is all wrong and the workmanship is junk. Ugly, stupid, and a waste of time and energy.

No seriously, this looks flippin sweet! I'm stoked this will be in our area!
I rode Pat's FX1 not too long ago and it was sick with the tubbies. The carbon version is going to be even better I'm sure.

the only reason it would need more is to gain weight so it rides better in the surf. Its pretty solid like it is.

and carbon holds installed will be no problem.
