Watched Gravity at IMAX this weekend and loved every second of it. Well done Sandra Bullock!

Started watching "The walking dead" last week and am back to staying up late and missing sleep over it. Unlike Breaking bad, I got into this series in the first episode and it had me hooked.

After Earth sucked balls. It was bad.

Gravity was decent, but extremely implausible. That turned me off.

After Earth, decent concept, poor in execution and possibly casting. The accents threw me off the entire movie. Will seemed to be trying too hard and the kid wasn't trying hard enough.

Pacific Rim...Two weeks later and I still can't stop thinking, "THEY HAD A FRICKIN SWORD THIS ENTIRE TIME...WTF!?!?!?!?" Exactly how stupid do you have to be to think that hand to hand combat is the right way to go in this scenario?

I thought Gravity was a huge dissapointment. Im sick of movies that seem to think they need to stuff "worst case senarios" into every second of the film. Buttloads of stuff flying and crashing around three or four different times , her almost floating away buy grabs the absolute very last possible thing before she floats away blah blah blah .... insulting.

Gravity was much like Avatar in that sense; it was meant to appeal on a visual and sensational level and not so much on the plot itself.

After Earth was horrible.

I saw Catching fire the other day and thought it was REALLY good. I read the books and they did a pretty fantastic job of following the book to a letter. It was my favorite book of the series, so really enjoyed it.

Visually it was no better than anything else out these days. Storywise it should have been on the scifi channel. Sensational wise had its moments like the single camera shot in the opening scene. Just seems to go on forever and pretty seamless , at times made you feel like you were out there with them , was tough to tell cgi from the real thing ...... then shyt hit the fan and believeability went out the window.

Just got back from watching The Hobbit part 2 in HFR 3D. Not sure if I liked it or not. The HFR is for high frame rate and it made the movie look like a video game sequence. The live scenes with little to no CGI were more lifelike than anything ever filmed but then other scenes looked like I was watching an animated film. It was very odd and very distracting. The story itself was pretty decent but I'll hold further review till I can watch it on a normal screen at home.

I'm taking the kids to the 2D normal version tomorrow.

I watched Thor 2 a couple of weeks ago. That was pretty good (but certainly not great).

As far as TV goes, with Breaking Bad over, Walking Dead and Revolution on Winter break, and Falling Skies turning into utter :):):):) - I am out of things to watch.
I keep hearing Downton Abbey is good.

Saw Hobbit 2 in regular frame rate. Thought the movie was good, but it did drag in the middle. 2 hours and 45 minutes is as long as I want to sit in a movie theater chair. But, the last 45 minutes with the dragon was awesome. For me, best part is Benedict Cumberbach as the dragon. The dragon is a total bad a$$!

I watched Homefront last week in theaters, personally I loved it. Just a good old fashioned Jason Statham action movie. Check out the preview!

Saw the Hobbit today in 3D with new Oakley 3D glasses. Definately better glasses than the freebe's. Liked it. Didnt even notice it was almost three hours. Did anyone catch who the first person shown in the film was? The person who walked out of the Inn/bar and took a bite out of something like a carrot or celery?

I am allowing violent movies back in as long as it is super evil F's being tortured or killed. "Law Abiding Citizens" was great except I wish he lived and the bomb at the end destroyed the entire court house! I can think of at least one story in the news right now (drunk kid kills a bunch of people and gets probation for "affluenza"!!????) where the families should watch this movie and make it happen in real life.

I heard some fat nerd girls behind me say "it's Peter Jackson!" So I'm guessing that's who it was lol.

I recognized the face and the fact that he was standing in front of the same Inn that all the Hobbits met the Ranger at in the fellowship of the ring. I meant to follow it up later and put a name and story to the face but forgot about it until you mentioned it. I just figured it was setting up some part that was meant to join with the other series somehow.

I might go see it again this week in normal 3D just to see the difference between normal and HFR.
