Thanks swanny.

Cant wait to see your machine all done. The question is....who will flip first? You or Roo?

Here is some more pics of the hood hook system by sportfish here on the x. This was probably one of the easiest installs i have ever done. Put the hood on, line up the bracket centered, with a couple mm gap in the pole bracket area. Mark the holes, bolt then seal w/silicone the bracket to the hood. Put the hood back on, drill the hole in the pole bracket area. Then I used west systems epoxy mixed with filler to glue the insert to the inside of the hull then added a layer of carbon overtop for added strength. Done.

Also a pic of the new 46mm carbs I picked up (thanks Brian)

Badass!! cant wait to rip it with the 701 and teach you how to launch those 180 stabs!!

180's yeah, but Stabs are violent on these rockered hulls IMO. If you 180 stab you might as well finish with a flip as the nose will shoot straight back at ya as soon as it hits the water. I feel like ya have to give up the stabs WHICH I LOVE to get the many benifits of the rockered front on most all the hulls now.

I completed my -8.5" Freak Badazz and tested it out last Sunday. So far I love it. Few tweeks to make, shortened pole another 2" last night (now 7.5" of RRP tubes showing). Some carb tuning (up one on lower jets should do it) and I will test again, may need a little cut off ride plate but want to try with shorter pole before I hack on it.

Congrats on your new hull / build bro, I am sure you will love it. I am shipping your carbs, intake and reads today.

Ride reports expected as soon as the ice melts up there lol.

Today was good and bad. I am a teacher and we had a snow day which is good because I got some time to wrench on the ski. The bad....there is snow on the ground and the lake is still frozen over =[

Anyway....i got to spend a little more time getting the engine shimmed correctly so the couplers line up perfect. I was also able to get my first mockup done for the engine compartment. Im glad I was able to do this because i ran into one problem...I bought the wrong coupler that connects the waterbox to mod chamber. Apparently I missed the fine print on xmetals website that said the coupler is for their stinger mod to the chamber so one end of the coupler is larger than the other. I assumed their waterbox just had the larger end.

Other than that, the mock up went great. This mockup was so much easier than the Q8. I cannot believe how spacious this hull is.

Here are the pics...

The hull has 1/2 in fittings from the pump to the engine compartment. I installed 1/2in fittings on the solas pump so that problem was solved. On the engine side, the manifold and head pipe have 3/8 fittings. I ended up finding some brass reducers and made some small conversions on the inside of the hull.

Wow tons of room in there bud! The q8 wasn't too bad, just the alignment was funky and there is a certain order how things had to be put in. Funny thing I did the same exact thing with the 1/2 to 3/8 reducers. Why did you go with some monster carbs for the 701?

you should have asked me about that hose, I have two in stock that I can't use with my new waterbox.

Its all good. I ordered one from the rad dudes. comes with those sweet hose clamps.

Is that a New B pipe or did you paint it?

I got a good deal on that chamber on here back in November. It was barely used and is super clean. I believe that is the color they come from factory pipe.

Haha I got that idea from your build thread.

I went with the bigger carbs by advice of a friend and also for a bigger powerplant down the road.

Here are some pics of the total loss I am going to run. A while ago, I sent the system to John at JetSki Solutions to work his magic. Before there were wires going in every direction and I had no clue what went where. He made it all so simple and organized. Here is the before and after of what he did.

Also, I am looking for advice/help on where to set this system up at (switches, static timing etc) Any info would be great.

Setup looks clean but i highly recommend putting it in some sort of enclosure

JSS's work is always topnotch. ^^ He's got a point. Is this thing gonna see any salt? I run mine in the open like urs but I'm 100% fresh water. I'd def invest in a closed box if I ran salt.

here is another idea you can keep in mind with the 1/2 through hull fittings.....heat the hose on the end and 3/8 hose will stretch up 1/2
