I think most engines are below the 800cc mark. Everyone i ride with is below that for sure! one guy is even doing backys! I really dont know if i will continue to compete if they raise the limit. I built all my engines to be under 800cc and it would cost me way to much money to go and build new engines. We dont want to change the sport where money will dominate, people need skills to!!

that's why they will have the first amateur class, stock hull under 800cc. Why can't you compete in that? There is only so much you can do with that set up even with mad skills. This will allow everyone to participate with their equipment and skills.

The bottom of my hull is aftermarket. i would be inbetween classes.... eventhough my hull still weighs slightly over 100 lbs

I can hop on a boat with more power and it is not going to make me better....... dont focus on the power, focus on being smooth.....

I dont know how you can say that. Ill tell you right now, with the right amount of power i can easily pull off a backy. I got over half way with a non ported 701.

last time I checked freestyle is more than flat water back flips.... If raising the limit from 800cc to 850cc's is gonna make you not compete then oh well...... There are not that many AM's who are gonna be running stroked motors....... If you can go out there and ride the hell out of your 785cc big bore and do a clean run then you can win, last time I checked the rider is the one doing the tricks, the ski is just the platform to do them on...... If you are landing flatwater back flips consistantly, you need to be competing in Pro Freestyle, not Amature. Personally when a competitor is pulling double troubles, flairs/twist and tricks like that, they need to step up..... I would like to see Nov - Expert - Pro level freestyle instead of what we have today.

I am game for anything...........even "run what you bring" as long as people can show up and get involved. 800cc limit is fine in my book. That allows for some well built motors for those who have the coin to do so but also keeps it competative. If you pull a flatwater backflip you should be in Pro...... that is a hard trick and I bet scores really well b/c of the difficulty.

Whatever makes more riders elgiable compete is better IMO

Im not saying engines everything, but power does make tricks look higher and smoother. Thats not the case for everyone. If you take two riders with the equal amount of skill, one has an enigne like mine and one has a 900cc, the one with the 900 is going to look way better, no ifs ands or buts about it!

I think you're getting way too hung up on this engine stuff. If you can't afford to step up to 900cc's, what makes you think that the rest of your competition can? Not everyone is going to show up at the first competition with a powervalve stroker lamey and a 50lb hull. You could easily make up for any 100cc disadvantage by really practicing and putting together a good, smooth, and entertaining routine.

Didnt the IJSBA just make changes? I thought 850cc engines are allowed in AM freestyle along with aftermarket hulls as long as their weight is within 10% of the OEM hull.
