oh ok, i see. I dont really get the difference between the IJSBA and the APBA, but i guess thats another thread

IJSBA = Worldwide (world Finals)

APBA = USA Racing & Freestyle (typically uses IJSBA Rules, but looks like some things are going to change, some of the newer IJSBA rules may not really work for us)

Alrite, that clears that up. If the rules are going to be different, what is going to happen if some of us go to worlds? wll we have to change or are they gunna continue to turn their face to the obvious?

you will have to go buy IJSBA rules.......... Europe does not follow the IJSBA Rules either, that why Rius did not race (his excuse) because the EJSBA is running a GP class which is not recognized by the IJSBA

last I heard he was............
but the IJSBA several years ago decided that they were not going to deal with regional races or promoting races.......... that where the APBA came from and the defunct USWRA.

So everyone pretty much agrees that there should be 3 classes allowing for more modified boats to enter the amateur class.

What about moving to Pro class? Right now you have to win Amateur class at WF in order to go Pro...........for some people that is just not possible to make that trip. Can you get bumped up to Pro if you keep winning the AM stuff at regional events? I am have not read anything specific concerning that issue. All I have heard is guys in each region complain about that one guy who they think should be classified as pro but has not made the switch.

You need to be classified as a pro in order to compete at that level. The extra amateur class simply allows those with "illegal" boats by the old rules to compete in a class that will promote more to attend and still keep everyone competative.

I achually like the 2 amateur classes more than the proposed "expert" class b/c just b/c you have the equipment does not mean you are a "expert" nor should it allow you the right to classify yourself as such. I think 2 divisions of the amateur status are more accurate. However, its all semantics.........whatever opens the doors to more participants is good in my book.

Just cause you got the $$Money$$ doesn't mean you got the skills.:cool2:

I also think theres a big difference between Am, and expert. Its not just the equipment.

Amateurs are getting the hood tricks down, making good attempts at Barrell rolls, monkey jumps etc.
Experts Nail the barrel roll pretty much at will, with Backflip attempts, and 50/50's etc
Pros, show everyone else how its done, and set the bar.......jm2c

and i agree that having money doesnt mean you have skills. But start gathering numbers what it would cost to build an am hull and a 900cc motor?i think that class would be small alone cause of the cost

Its not easy, but you'd be amazed at what you can do, or get when you put your mind to it.

missed you in daytona bro...i gave ratti hell all weekend tryin to push him, you would have been proud...

i like an all stock class for am...gives new people starting out a chance to get the comp bug and really see whats good with getting involved with the races, freestyle / freeride comps...

True but allot of am guy like to drop coin on thier boat......and b/c of that they exclude themsleves from competition. If you erase one line only to draw anouther I think it is counter productive. What the new class is designed to do is not to limit the field for amateur entries. If a amateur guy buys a watercraft factory hull and a team scream motor, even though he is not experienced in competition, let the sport be open to that..........his bread supports the companies that makes freestyle grow on a larger scale.
