If I'm going to buy a new couch (and I own one), it needs to be able pull tubes, skiis, etc....So I would have to upgrade to a 3 seater to be legal, then probably upgrade the motor so it's powerful enough, and at the end with all the upgrades, freight, taxes and I'm in the Yamha and Kawi price. So in the end I would rather stick base model Yama or Kawi 1200. If I want a fun two seater, then I will buy a used Blaster and at least I can work on it. I'ts like buying a car...they get you in on a base price model, then you realize you need the expensive one, or they don't even have the base model. Happened to me with my last car. They advertised new Altimas for $18 k brand new, but no one on the west coast had one, so I took it into my pooper for $24 k for a fully loaded one. Just my opinion.....Seadon't!
I really don't see where all the hype is. Once again...I think its a great direction for Seadoo...but some of you guys are talking about buying one of these, and spending thousands to hop it up..just to make it be like something that already existed. At that point its just another expensive couch, and defeated the whole purpose of it being a cheap introductory ski.

i never understood why they still ran 2 smokes... although i have seen some 4 strokes here lately. the 4 strokes have way more bottom end. when youre riding in a stadium theres not much get up and go room, id think you needed all the bottom end you could get, if i wasnt scared of being that high, and not over water, i'd go 4 stroke i think

Dude, I can not believe any one on here would even mention the idiotic idea of a 4 stroke turbo stand up. Or argue in defense of a four stroke watercraft. Power to weight is terrible cost is outrageous and non of that matters because its running on WATER. If you want to join the idiotic hippie movement of ignorance that sucks because the technology is there for two strokes its just no one wants to give it a chance because they are all brainwashed into ignorance that a four stroke is more reliable and makes less emissions. Go compare the brand new Evinrude E-Tec to any other four stroke on the market and tell me there is no new 2 stroke technology. Four strokes hurt the motocross industry tremendously and a hell of a lot more support than this world.
That's right. 2 stroke technology is lingering, not progressing. Even if you can get the emissions down to acceptable limits, they still fail based on their overall carbon footprint. The debate is over, 2 strokes are done. We can get hung up on sentimentality or we can get on the bandwagon and cheer 4 stroke technology in the right direction.
Just be thankful we have the loopholes we have because there's going to be a day when it will be an offense to even start up a 2 stroke.
Bombardier seems to be the only big name in watercraft still pursuing the 2 stroke but unfortunately they have never been interested in the stand up market.
