Those rumors have been around since the early 2000's.

There were rumors that the SXR was a 4-stroke since it had a bigger hull than the SXi, but it was just a bored out 750 with new hull/hood, same old pole.

Yea, I know there have been rumors for years, which is why Im not holding much hope for it.

Sorry for calling you out, but "knowing X for a fact" is a strong statement to make.

I don't see a whole lot of Hydrospace machines around. Maybe that had a bit to do with how they are sold here. Maybe it has to do with the price. :):):):), it probably had a LOT to do with Mo.
But it's probable that any OEM looking to get into the 4-stroke standup market would look at the Hydrospace history in the US and take clues from it. If I were such an OEM, the clue would be to drop the idea.
I don't doubt that there is a fair number of standup enthusiasts looking to get 'legal' machines they can ride in their waters that currently, or in the future, ban 2-stroke machines.
I do doubt that there are enough of them to warrant an OEM fronting the development, manufacturing, and marketing cost to bring such a thing to the US market and make money at it, while being 'affordable', whatever that means.

But again, as an OEM I would take a step back and look at the big picture. What you have is a pretty small market with an uncertain legal future. From the OEM's perspective, there are far bigger fish to be had.

I know of plenty of racers that were willing an eager to spend the dough on the Hydrospace but no local dealer and no way to get parts made us all keep putting money into our Kawasaki's.

I heard that at this years world finals, Kawasaki reps went up to racers and asked if the made a 150HP Kawasaki stand up for 10K is they would buy 1. Everyone I know said yes. Time will tell

OK, I am wrong about the 3D. I didn't realize it was an XP bottom.

Matt, the Hydrospace is actually in high demand, but that is probably because (like you said) you dont see too many around. Hydrospace is a very expensive standup, and they sold. My original point was that if a 4 stroke can have a $5000 price range, then perhaps a 4 stroke standup with a similar price range would sell. I'll concede this argument though. Im sure there is a significant investment from a company to actually produce a new watercraft, and if the sales aren't there its not justified.

Hopefully the Kawi 4 stroke standup rumors are true. The latest one I heard was that the 15F motor would be going into an SXR type hull, only 6 inches longer in total length.

It would be great if the rumor were true, but honestly: Mo hyping that BS for the past DECADE (Not even kidding) has pretty much soured everyone on it.

anyone get a spark yet? I would totally get my wife one over any other couch out there. I love that they weigh 400 and some change. Cant wait to see someone try to roll one lol.

Few people have posted on pwctoday. Also news that you can have the ECU flashed and have it go from 90hp to 120hp for 700$.

wow. that's awesome. This may be blasphemy but I wish they would give a half serious try and getting into the stand up world. none of the 3d crap. Do some research as to what the industry wants, do some creative thinking and engineering, and make a go at producing an affordable entry level ski. they have the funds and capability to do it. they need to just pull their heads out of their a$$ and I bet they could produce something that rivals the superjet and cuts the price in half.

Hey everyone!

I guess all of you have noticed the new Spark from Seadoo.

The one with 90hp should bring alot of fun.

But, what do you think is the main difference between the 60hp and 90hp?
Is it just some limitations in the ignitionsystem? Or is it another engine setup?

If there's some limitations made in the electricalsystem, there should be a way to reprogram this features and recieve a 90hp version.

What do you think?

I'm not sure what the difference is but I've had a go on one and had a blast, was a great fun ski.

There's already a turbod spark so there should be some good upgrade available soon.

Hey bro, the sea do may have scratched with your fingernail but all of the paint on my superjet cracked with just regular "inland only lake" riding after only a couple months. The "durability under the harshest conditions" you talk about is bogus, unless of course you mean only your sit downs are built to last..... I wouldn't buy a spark, but I wont be buying a Yamaha again either. You mention that you get what you pay for. At least that's actually true with the spark. My superjunk wasn't nearly worth what I ignorantly paid. Lesson learned

Self tapping screws, and that's the only way you have access to the engine? pretty lame. It means fast assembly at the factory..but self tappers in plastic only last so long. Interesting..
