Freestyle new rrp carbon pipe

I'm taking the PFP off my XFS this winter and installing it on my Blaster. My plan was to buy an RRP pipe for my XFS. All this info is making me a bit nervous. Should I stick with the PFP or go for the RRP? Or go the PFP and convert it to a wet pipe? Any opinions?

If your XFS is currently together Id put it in water and observe the lake water line around the outside of the ski in the water box stinger area and transfer that to the inside Of the hull. If you decide to go RRP set it up so your stinger and water box Is above the the water line you previously plotted. 3 or 3 1/2 nches of block gets box pretty high. Or you could do a P trap..

Just don't mount the water box on the Hulls bottom. Had I put 3 1/2 inches of block to start with I probably would have been fine.

Didn't know but I do now...

Both pipes can have water intrusion issue its just the RRP box is short so it's more prone so to speak

You'll be be fine and your in a much better position now so you can set your ski up accordingly and as needed

Edit: forgot to mention the thru hull tube and you should be familiar it's type, straight tube or S bent in the tray area and its relative elevations at either end

this is what i threw together a couple years ago and it stopped the problem. before, you had to be careful not to turn the ski on to its side or it flooded the motor every time and would need to be towed in.

Couple places have them now. I've been messing with this one from the new batch. Mani looks like it was tooled differently on the coupler side. No welded sleeves in these. maybe first batch were all precut for pfp from edelbrok or factory pipe..anyway not sure why they left a big ridge around 3/4 of the internal edge at the end of tooling cut. Possibly just in the tooling angle of mass production. Cylinder side needs less porting than I expected a cast piece to need. Over all nice piece after a lil bit of grinding.pics are before mani was ported Internal volume is 60 mm at end lil smaller inside. Seen a few of these cut larger. Anyone have any feed back on that.

Waterbox is tiny compared to most... minimal water needed to sink lower outlet tube

Way better and a lot smarter then my set up. I'll have to go to that style of trap. Thanks for the photo!!

Doesn't installing a bend (particularly a 90') slow down the flow in a pipe increasing back pressure? Would it be better to use 45's for a shallower climb/fall instead instead?

like i said, every bend is resistance to flow. using tubing that is way bigger than required, allows bends that dont create back pressure. most pipes are designed to be used with either a stock waterbox or the waterbox that was intended to be used with the pipe. the waterbox is where most back pressure is created. if the tubing after the waterbox restricts flow even more than the waterbox, its either going to have too much back pressure, making to run worse or the pipe/waterbox combo wasnt designed right and it will run better.

i didnt notice any loss when i used 2.5" but major loss with the 1.75". i put the P trap way in the back so the exhaust would have more distance and the chance to expand from the stinger. closer to the stinger and the P trap may create more back pressure. WDK blew smoke up my ass and said he would send me the waterbox he builds for his setup. i think it mounts in the back instead of right behind the stinger like the PFP and the rest. i built a waterbox PFP style for the rokR, to correct the backflow problem, but i sold it to fieore. i dont know if its in the boat he built or not. the ski is for sale on here.
