My plan right now is to isolate the metal coil via a rubber sheet, and nylon washers, and shrink wrap around the bolts. I'll check back in once it's all locked in.

good to hear. whats weird is i am having a very similar issue with my ski right now. runs fine out of water, but when its under a load, its like its only firing on one cylinder.back fired a little bit also. i have the old 4270 analog setup. 3rd season on this TL setup. i have an extra coil i think ill try. or maybe its the brain.( i removed my whole motor thinking it was reeds or a carb issue also!). good job sticking with it and getting it fixed. theres nothing like the feeling of fixing a frustrating perplexing problem. i bet you feel like you could fix anything now!!
