Bet that's due to the rideplate.

They both have aftermarket ride plates on them. Just my 650 rides a lot smoother and more stable. Doesn't want to fall over as much or get off balanced as easy.

just picked up a 87' 650sx for cheap with some mods. i got to get a steering cable but that's about it besides clean it really good and register it again. and i think it has a pipe not sure but if it doesn't i want to get the FP pipe for it. i want to make it torquey and good for the surf. even though no one really surfs a 650sx. Or do they???

There a really nice 98 750 alot of aftermart parts i saw for 2,400 and if your looking under a grand maybe try to find a sn sj

ahh 650sx great ski to learn on other than that you will need another ski the motor is great the hull is just way to heavy. I put around a $700 in my 550 and no 650 can even run with my ski.

I think I have a steering cable for you. You can have it for the costs of shipping. It may be from a 750 so check if it will fit. What is wrong with yours?

i checked they have different part numbers so im guessing it wont work. dam. the guy i bought the ski from said it was rusted out and didn't move smoothly so he took it out and was gonna replace but he didn't. yeah for now it will get me through the summer, hopefully with out any problems.
