Hopefully this will get approved for IJSBA lites racing. Technically it is not legal with the programming input. I know the MSD has a positive red wire that isn’t on the OEM cdi but that’s not considered an input/output by IJSBA.
I don't see the programing input as an issue. I feel the input is there for a point of view as in measuring deto and winding the timing back not a programing port that you cant actually adjust while the engine is running and its also awful hard to balance the laptop on the back straight. The msd has a 12v input, I would consider that definitely as an input. I have always thought the msd is against he rules in this situation but I think its time to clarify/redo the wording the rules, As in no extra sensors which can effect the tune.

I agree but I bet the IJSBA doesn’t see it that way at all. We all need to ask for clarification during the rules period in late December or early January

Questions are being asked on setups.
I have already been running and testing the Zeel Y62T for over 6 months now. I have tested every possible Charging Flywheel option Avail, as well as a full library of custom curves. Trust in a shop that build and tune motors exclusively. Proper Complete tunes are key to overall performance.. Ill be at Daytona Freeride with plenty of the Y62T CDI on hand, and able to supply you with custom curves to enhance your ride! Look for me on the Beach Fri, and can set you up with exclusive TPE / T1 / Torrent , test rides, or on the Pool deck all day Saturday!

Happy Holidays From LPW!

Ski you in Daytona!

Good news on reliability. For racers it is still illegal within the IJSBA and IJSBA just proposed freezing the rules for 22’

if there are any racers on this site (lites class) you should email IJSBA and ask for “allowing additional inputs“ or programmable. I was told the reason the MSD Enhancer is deemed legal is because it has a fixed curve

Im also Tech Director for ProWatercross. The Y 62T is currently legal for Sport Spec. It will be in discussion for Ski Stock in Jan. Good point on emailing IJSBA for rule updates. Im pretty sure the Rule Freeze is geared toward new craft clearing the homoligization rule? All this will start in early Jan. Ill keep this thread updated as to any changes.
thank you for bringing this up!

Its new model year watercraft that is homoliginated for comp. Components are not.

current PWX rulebook for ski stock does not allow for a cdi to have alternate inputs or outputs. So the cdi by itself is not legal for compition. Any form of modification to an aftermarket cdi would further complicate the interpretation of the rule, thus I would consider it illigal. In the case of Sport Spec, the Y62T is legal, as long as there is no way for curve maps to be changed while underway? Yes, during technical inspection, Teardowns do require Eboxes to be opened and inspected.

Why would they allow anything other than an unmodified OEM ignition? They opened up a can of worms when MSD was let in the rules.

Rules committee's are really good at messing things up! They are about to allow 1200 motors into Amateur Freestyle
that is a really bad move in my eyes!

I have a question about this curve and how it works within the Zeel Programming. And maybe this has been addressed before and if I missed it, sorry.
In table and graph below, we see that the at 1500rpm timing is set to 18° BTDC, then at 3000rpm timing is set to 32°BTDC.
Does the timing change like the graph suggests? i.e. where at 2500rpm timing would be aprox 27.5°BTDC?
Or does it "wait" until you reach 3000rpm to "jump" from 18° to 32°

Thanks.

It follows the curve as a steady climb. You can add points to change the slope.

The std curve the Y62T , comes with, the Wax V3, will work really good for the majority of the rec skiis out there.
its pretty much a do all curve, as long as your ski is tuned correctly to start with.
That said, you did not describe the type of riding your doing? Im guessing by your choice of parts, its General Freeride? I would start with the V3 on map 1. Then say, you want to try some flatwater Freestyle? I curve can be written to enhance that style riding and flashed into Map 2 . A simple dash or bar mounted switch, will allow you to change maps on the fly. The options the Zeel Y62T allows is pretty cool.
I'm guessing you have your Y62T already? If not and you need one, or want to explore programing options?
feel free to contact me direct! Ill help you get set
