Thanks. Bruceski how is the wrist?
I am worried about reinforcing the engine bay and how much weight it will add. I may decide not to reinforce but I will wait and see what weight I am at when I get the nose done.
lol Stormd I might actually be willing to work on another ski if I didn't still have so much more to do on mine. What new job did you find?

What type of motor setup will you be running? I would highly recommend that you reinforce the engine bay.

if you are worried about weight, use two part foam in the bond line and one layer of 17 oz biax over that. Grind all the ribs too. It doesn't add that much weight and has been plenty of strength to stand up to 10ft. pancaked rolls in the surf for me.

X2

If you already have some biax laying around /\/\/\ that is what you should do...Just one layer like bruce said.

There is no need to reinforce the engine when you ride in a lake, stock hull is strong enough for your needs

Well....If he doesn't plan on getting huge air, or doing barrel rolls then he should be fine.

One of my local riding buddies knocked a hole in the side of his reinforced SJ after failing a huge barrel roll behind a big yacht.

Stormd at least you will have 3 days to work on the ski lol. Well a little update on the ski. The tray is all foamed and pretty much ready for glass. How many layers do yall use for building up a tray?

You have no tray at all...correct? As you can see the stock tray is fairly thin. I would say build the tray up until it feels nice and solid...maybe 2-3 or more layers of 17oz biax.

Correct I dont have any tray. I started today and layed a layer of chopped mat on the floor of the tray. Tomorrow I am going to do the sides. After that I will use some biaxial. I am having trouble with air bubbles forming between the glass and foam I am laying

ok well i have the tray all layed out. I put a layer of chopped mat and 2 layers of 17oz biaxial on the flat part of the tray. I then put a layer of biaxial and 3 layers of eglass cloth on the gunwales. Is this enough or should I put more? I stood in the tray and started jumping on it hard enough to where the stand was bouncing around and there was no flex. also I cant flex the gunwales at all when I try to push on them

if ur riding flatwater 61x has more low end from my opinion and bigger exhaust ports. ski looks dope tho! this def makes me wanna buy a sn and mod it. you do great work man. im stoked to see final product!

If its real nice and solid it should be good enough.

On another note I traded in the old 61x and got a 62t. Also I ordered a billet rrp pole.

Dang! Spending the extra for the billet! I run the cast pole, but the billet looks alot cooler, its is stronger and a pound or so lighter.

What handlepole bracket are you going to run?

I could be wrong, but im sure he means 61x/62t dual carb. setup. You are correct, if its 62t/62t couch motor then he wont have as much bottom end.

I'm not sure which bracket I will run yet. I would like a cheaper solution then the rrp bracket but I still want to run the dual pole breather.
