Ugh that means u gotta sand on that nice new rrp pole
I didn't sand mine and I couldn't even get the old one off. Just use turf glue; 2 layers on the pad, 1 or 2 on the pole where you want the pad, wait until its dry to the touch and stick it together.

You can see the glue and remnants of the old pad to the right of the new one, it was ON there.

Well I found a roll of 6'x8' outdoor carpet at homedepot yesterday to cover my stand and hitch hauler bunks. I have to pull the pump back out and my shims for the impeller should be here tomorrow. then I need to glue the pole pad I made down and I will be ready to shred this weekend

Couple of teaser pics

Thanks guys. Its all done now except for respacing the impeller(shims should be here tomorrow) and putting my TX numbers and reg stickers on. My neighbor is supposed to be making me TX numbers in fluorescent yellow with black outlining but if I don't have them by this weekend I will just put the standard white and black stickers on so I can ride this weekend.
Here it is all done!

Looks great Tyler! Seriously, it looks better than any stock SJ has the right to.

Whats the story with the checkerboard tape? Covering up a 'oops' or does it make it go faster lol?

Thanks Robin. Lol the checkered tape is to cover an oops and protect from further oops. I was windy one day and I took the hood off. the wind caught the hood and put a nick in the paint. I also have some edging on the way to put around the bottom of the hood to help to

Thanks guys. There were many times when I wanted to give up on building the ski but this being the only ski I have kept me going. I'm Glad I could motivate people, I love looking through threads on full custom builds like mine. Reading those threads are what inspired me. Well sort of, I didn't plan on doing this much to it at first but then while I had it all cut up I decided to go all out and not regret it later.
ProSouth just chop the nose up, fill it with foam, and shape it to whatever flows.

Alright well I was able to get the ski out on Saturday and run a tank through it. I still have some spots to tune out but will wait till this weekend since I was using up the last of my old gas from last season. I like the solas mag. It had noticeable hookup over the stock pump. You can still have fun and slide the tail out but then easily regain traction when needed. Recovery times were better but I am still trying to get used to recover from landings on a short hull. Shortrening my rrp pole 3" did help a lot with controlling the ski and helping to get my weight more centered. I had forgotten my gopro at the house or I would have gotten some video of it in action. Hopefully I will remember it this weekend. So far, 3 other people have ridden the ski (kotajoe, deaftexan, and daniel martin) The only person that wasnt happy with it was kotajoe. I ordered a new bigbore throttle cable from maniac that I will install the week ( the old throttle cable is like 20 years old and wears your finger out quick.) I am also trying to get used to the power band on this engine and hitting wakes with it, mainly because I have been propped with a 14/19 since I bought the ski and I now have a 9/15. I will keep posting feedback as I get used to the ski and get it dialed in.

LOL Kotajoe is never happy... so it sounds like everyone was happy with it lmao...
I'd like to check it out, maybe at the free ride if I can throw my RN together in time.

Glad to hear you like the mag, I'll be trying my first one out on the BC. Thats a huge prop change to get used to as well... Sounds like you're gonna be ripping it up this year.

Hey now, I am happy sometimes, I havent blown up any engines yet this season and my ski is 1000% ready for the coast so I am a happy camper. The only things I didnt like about Tylers ski were his footholds (too wide for me, and couldnt kick into them) and his throttle response. I am used to the light response of my single carb setup so I am sure that had a lot to do with it. All in all I think the ski turned out pretty kick ass and with the next steps in mods that he has planned it with be a kick ass rec boat, good job T-dog!!!!!!

I have a new throttle cable that should be in tomorrow and installed for this weekend. My next mod I am thinking about is total loss! Thinking about selling off my ak to help fund this.
