Nitrous on a superjet

I thought the problem with NOS is the pump. I can see if your only going for topend speedrun but then the boat will be slow out of the hole. Do you plan to prop just for top speed?
You are totally right. We're are going to need a miracle prop. Basically a prop that will work to not seriously bog down a 70hp stock ski and still not break free/cavitate a 110hp modified ski.

The current 13/17 3mm cutback Solas stuff isn't too bad, and seems to be used by everyone from a stock 701 up to a TS 828 stroker.

For those of us going for a reasonable 25-30hp boost I doubt it will be an issue. Guys trying to get DASA performance out of a stock 6M6 are going to have a dog of a ski off the bottle.

Your best bet is to try 12 vane set back mag. Might even want to go down to 140mm pump. You need the hook up. Just my 2cents.

Boondocker kit is $650-$800. Boss Noss starts at $799.

Maybe I will be the cheapest after all. We are targeting a basic kit at $499. Dual carb models will be a little higher because of the additional nozzle and plumbing. These will be DIY style bend to fit solenoid brackets and WOT switch. Hopefully we can get laser/water jet cut brackets available quickly for a few $$ more. I've done a bunch of nitrous installs on cars so I am pretty excited about this.

how about taking a reed spacer make it thicker and drilling/tapping that then when you sell the kit you could sell it as a 61x or a 62t. Not sure what the nitrous would do the the reeds that close tho

edit: after thinking about it, my idea wouldn't work on the current types of manifolds, unless you made a plate that had the nozzles in it that bolted to the mani then reeds bolted to the plate

Good question about the reeds. I think the farther the better. I know it must not be too bad. The run nos on sleds. I have a friend who has it on a sled. It works well because sleds hook up like crazy.

In order to have a pressurized fuel supply I would still use an electric pump. Distributing the fuel is another issue - either small injectors or something else. I know it has to be a mist to work best. The switches that activate the system @ WOT are not a problem at all. Can be bought in many places.

I am not sure how the reeds will take the beating. Maybe direct cylinder injection would be something to consider? I am a bit afraid that if we inject nitrous at the reed entrance the cases could get shot. Injecting from top or side to the cylinder could be something to consider...

I got a reply from the guy at Boodockers:

"Benny,

I am familiar with the wet shot you are looking for, unfortunately the type of kit we can offer would be a dry shot, witch would be a small hp shot with no added fuel, 15 hp or so could be added in small hits but you would not be able to run full spray without a jetting change to richen it up witch would cause it to run a little rich off of spray but rip with spray on. If I can help let me know. Jared Note: we have bottles of all sizes so fitment should not be an issue."

What do you guys think? a "Dry shot" is out of the equation? Dangerous and will shorten the life span of your engine too much?

As "lame" as it may sound, I am not interested in speed or racing. All I want is be able to "shot the Sh*t" on an approaching boat wake or your own wake and get that extra power for Big air thus allowing you to pull a trick....so yes I do need a handle bar switch/lever of some sort.

I don't know if that will be even possible so maybe this is not for me after all........:dunno:

I really can't see how you could prop for that. I think it would just spin it.

I know a guy that runs the boondocker kit on his sled. It is dry & shot into the flame arrestor. Like I said it works well on sleds.

Do it twice?That's DooDoo
I added about 25 -30 hp with my motor this year and the 13/16 I used to run didnt spin that bad.... 14/19 c75 definately hooks up better and has a little better performance all over... but the 13/16 solas still was half way decent...
