East park is free to camp/launch/everything. No extra fees if you want to bring two vehicles. There are no regular sheriff/ranger patrols. There is a brick building bathroom with a toilet above a septic tank. Long drop for them turds. Did see a sheriff boat, but only on July 4th weekend. There's a specific campsite that I'd like to reserve by having someone get there early. Launch is literally at the campsite. Launch is packed dirt. Won't get stuck though. Fully loaded RVs use it. Huge amount of space between campsites. Not packed like sardines.

I'm voting east park. Simply because its free and EVERYONE can be in one 'campsite'. We dont need to reserve like 6 sites close to each other like at other places.

ill be the guy that always says "shoulda went to east park" if we go somewhere else :^).

Now, that's some great info right there. Thank you . I'm still fighting at work for at least one week off during the summer, lame. I won't know till late.

Yep that's it. Everyone would love it. I wouldn't be fighting for it if I didn't think so myself.
Is there anyway you could do a pic of the whole lake and then mark the spot?
I see on the gov. site there is a group site you can reserve, but the rest of the lake is free for all? Is there toilets every so often or just in some areas where most people camp? How about gas and maybe a convenience store? Distance? And like you said, if you want a good spot, you have to get there early, right?
Sorry, I've never seen the lake so I'm trying to picture how it works....

Those should be the coordinates, I think. Throw it into google or your fav mapping program.

Will type more later.

I learned something new, with coordinates. I was looking at the other side of the lake, this makes sense now. Very cool, so I zoomed in and followed the road and it looks like there is a toilet every so often, shared by a few campsites, right? I still can't beleive it's free, that makes no sense. Looks like a nice lake, toilets, some trees, and beeing able to launch from your campsite is very cool. If we don't get out for a week, we will defenitely do a weekend just to explore. I would post here and on Nor cal thread the dates.

correct, there are toilets every so often and are shared by a few campsites. it does get really hot there, 90+ so you will be in the water most of the time. There are lake sherrifs and land sheriffs that do patrol but they are generally nice. Wear a lifevest, don't spray each other with the jet and they will not bother you. The land sheriffs are also pretty chill, just don't ride any dirtbikes as they really don't like that. (you can tell i've met them a few times haha)

There is a small shop right outside the lake where you can go for ice. You head about 20 minutes out of the lake to get gas at a nearby town, the price isnt horrendously expensive and they have a bit bigger store for cooking goods and even super tech oil!

I have heard of skis being stolen off the beach but i asked the sheriff and he said he has not heard of it. So i would suggest just locking a few skis together or pulling them out of the water at night. Personally i always leave my SN on the shore and sleep 20 feet away from it. Not too worried.

One thing you will need to bring here is easy up tents. If you go to spot that tyrant selected there is NO natural shade. The best thing to do in the summer is put the easy up in the water, set your chairs in the water and bring the cooler down :)

Sounds like we are planning on EPR now lets get some dates set so we can plan it and make it work.

Anytime in late June to September is good. I can see my self now, chilling in the bed of my pickup, with some top raumen watching the sun set after a hard day of riding.

It will be probably a bit easier as it gets closer. I'm still working on a week off in July so we go to Shasta. And I will post as I get the info. Can't wait till summer!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!:deadhorse:
