Not just another Superfreak Build.

2-4lb. What McDog said, pack it tight with XPS. I would still pour a little polyurethane to give it some more structure.

The foam poured in my fx1 was still dry when I did the pump swap almost 20 years later. Replace the tray piece and pour it through the bulkhead like yamaha did! If you leave it open put one way drains in. You'll take on water no matter how well you think it's sealed.

If u foam it, I'd lay some small bore PVC pieces (in chine trough) cut to the inner length of tray and drill holes in it to allow water to channel into chines and out the drains. And before I'd ever do that, I'd use mcdoggy's advice and use polystyrene. U can pack that crap as tight as u want and it will be structurally sound, never hold water, and be buoyant. I've even thought about shredding polystyrene and spraying it in the tray before. When it's all said and done, an exacto knife and a $20 sheet of poly will take all of 20-30" to pack in there right and tight.

Thought about adding this to the underside of the tray, Mount the plate and screws and then turf over with the 1" Underpadding........ ?

They make another one but don't see it on their site, I think it's new, mounts to one of the reduction nozzel ear bolts, not sure if you've seen those

Edit: here it is, I see you saw these though

I like the oem method here too. Drill a hole and put a tow bushing through it. Tow point should be in the center anyway. It will pull you sideways if not. Took me and Don forever to get in at Hugo when I ran out of gas. Plus!, it's free to drill a hole in your hull and you probably already have a bushing.
