I'm in either way. April would probably be first ride of the season for me and Oct would be the last ride of the season for me.

End of April is cool....beginning would be cold. I am all for this change.

DJ i really should have put april in the title, its not going to be much diff temp wise between the last week of april and the first week of may,the big diff is once it hits may 1st the law changes and we cant ride right out front of the hotel off the beach all day. I see this as the second biggest problem.last weekend in april,if guys wana come in 4 or 5 days before and after the setup of the event is done and ride everyday they are good.

From my memory the surf is usually pretty good around this time,is there anything out there that gives average wave heights each month?

It is full suit water temps, but almost all freeriders have one,so no big deal there.

Yea we will always have the quads there for the permitted part of the ride regardless of what month it is,we may even get away with having at least one there even before the event starts for the extended stay riders.

I'm with you, hell I ride in Feb....but you may lose out on having alot of the southern riders drive up to what is "freezing" water temps for them. Just something to think about.

You guys do realize that it snowed in mid April last year, right? I like it being an end of year event myself, buy I would probably go no matter when it is.

I really think this change would make WaveDaze blow up to epic ride status. I remember how stoked people got for Lanier and that was flat water!!!!!

If the ride were moved to April I could def. make it. Way too much going on in the fall. I have always wanted to go to this ride.

The last week of April sounds like the perfect time for me. I would like to see this event grow and just like slutty said, the air and water temps have not hindered the growth of Daytona at all. I will be riding no matter what, and I'm sure the entire NY crew will be right there with me. We are used to riding in the cold especially if it's the beginning of the season. April is the perfect time to get the itch out and get pumped up for the rest of the season. I want to see this event grow and will support it no matter what time of year it is though.

Are the majority of riders located in FL?

1. Decide if you wish to tap the FL market, if yes:
A. Find a way to encourage the FL market
1.) What unique can you offer?
2.) How can you package it for appeal?
B. Don’t plan anything close to existing FL Meets, as to enable a more draw for yourself.

stripper poles ? eh just kidding. We did have a couple FL guys come up this yr,they had a blast,Im sure Chis and Josh will bring some more guys next yr,but theres no changin alot of the sticks in the mud, they barely make tona for a couple days and they live right there, lol
Dj,sweet bro I was trying to find something like that.the better odds for the surf the better time we will all have for sure

eroc, the winter itch is deff a big reason tona blew up like it did, wavedaze could follow suit as a season opener rather than a closer

Virginia Coast has much to offer, and you know I am a big supporter of Wavedaze (just couldn’t get free this year). You have a big draw going on the West Coast around October that most on the East Coast typically do not break free for thus far. It's good to have something on the East Coast to offer during such time as an alternative. Think about the numbers first, and then what you can do to get them...you’re a great salesman, and so you know the sales pitch should come last, LOL. :cheer:

What about this: you have the perfect locale and set-up for a Military Tribute Ride.

Have you thought about the vast amount of people that would appreciate being involved with such an event? I imagine many within our industry, and particular outside of our industry, would appreciate such an opportunity to show their support. Have you considered how much military support you could garnish for our own industry, if you geared all in such a direction? Have you thought about how many skis would likely be sold due to such, via the respectful effort and introduction? Have you thought about how much publicity such a grand event would produce? I personally always loved watching everyone doing drills in uniform on the boardwalk up there, and I’m pretty sure something special would be arranged by our fine military to benefit all in attendance as well. So many kids would love this! I imagine many other ladies (ka-ching), and sponsors (ka-ching/ka-ching) would enjoy this as well! Plus, the men not in uniform seem to like all the ladies being around, so…ka-ching/ka-ching/ka-ching!!! We might even manage a special appearance from Convict, LOL !!!

Just an idea…and I don’t think you need to consider moving your schedule around to accommodate it, because it would take a bit of time to coordinate properly for sure.
