Surfriding Pismo Springbreak Freeride - March 9, 10 & 11, 2012

I originally booked the place for my wife and she didnt come. Also after going to the hotel in the evening getting cleaned up eating dinner I went back down to the beach for a few minutes by the fire, by then everybody is saucy and repeating themselves.

Charlie you and I a.m. daybreak session for sure. MF66 afternoon session for sure

I will be the one throwing down the Breakfast burritos after the morning session.

Countdown 30 something days yep.

Breakfast burritos.. Ill bring the cholula!!

I'll be up and ready every morning, sometimes I beat Charlie on the beach hahah

Yeah Mike, I dont know how you do it. Kill beers all night and up early for a braap session. I think in my case its just being old haha

I also like to ride in the AM, as early as possible, those seem to be the best conditions at Pismo.
Me No Drinking either, so I will join you with a cup of Java.

Benny

Yeah Benito, I got into that habit from riding with the Oside Crew. They are in the water by 07:00 down there. I once rode with Sticks and was in the water at 05:45 NO JOKE!! See you early birds on the water

Just completly stripped down my buddies SJ yesterday and I have to have all back together before this

New pistons cylinders bored all gaskets replaced swapping out the TL for a stock system..did I mention I have never done this before?

Eh the LAST thing I even want to think about is working on skis when I'm going out riding and I know that's how most people feel. And that's why I am going to get it finished in time haha

In other news I am picking up my new ski a Kawasaki 750 just in time for this meet :Banane25:

So it is looking very skeptical that I will have everything done or more so have the money to make it to pismo.....BUT if I do come up with the money to go I would be driving my car up there towing my ski. I have used my truck up until now and used the normal beach entrance where you have to drive through the river but that's out of the question for my car.
My question is, isnt there an alternate entrance that comes from the other end of the beach where I wont have a water crossing to deal with?

Unfortunately, you cannot get into the beach from the south side of the dunes. You must go in from either pier or grand Ave. Which means you have to cross the Arroyo grande creek. But if you can make it you could just hook the trailer up to my truck and ill take you out to mile marker 4. Or im sure someone will have room on their trailer. Either way, we'll get you out there!

I recall learning that lesson my very first visit, in a rental jeep which should have NEVER been rented to anyone. It was midnight when I reached that lost space in time too, and fortunately there was no access...could have been reeeally bad. Wasn't funny then, and still wasn't funny once I did make it onto the beach, not being able to locate the spot due to the vast horde of "other people". You guys more than made up for it by guiding me in though, and most def after the fact. Darn funny now! :)

I mean I was waaaaaaay SOUTH, lol.

(it said Oceano State Park)

The river of doom isn't that bad from what I remember. The middle of it is whats bad but I think if you drive closer to or farther from the beach its pretty shallow. My dually gets stuck in 2 inches of loose sand and it made it through. The best advice is DON'T SLOW DOWN when you come up to it.

I've seen people drive tercels through it
