They've got some good people involved with good resources. This isn't your low budget shade tree get rich idea. If it makes it into final production stages it will be a quality product.

They need to figure out how to get the pics and videos from the latest models to show up sooner than the first prototypes. He's come a long way and all my earlier comments about styling were based on the earlier units.

Yup, the survey seems irrelevant after going through that thread.

I've been in contact with the owner and the engineer just through email and such for a possible job selling/showcasing... I'm a teacher so I got my summers off, last year I showcased the new Flyboard in Chicago for a rental company. As far as the Bomboard, it looks a lot smaller in person (not nearly as big as a VXR pictured lol, however the engine was not in that one which was a bummer. Again its still in its development stage, and it's not aimed at standup riders like us. It's aimed at the younger gen and people who may want to get into the sport and may not be able to afford a ski or have space.

As far as the people who criticize the price, you are correct you can buy a stand-up for a lot cheaper (but will it run...if so how long jk;)) but then again you need to haul it somehow, store it, etc which is maybe why they made it easy to transport. Also the company is looking to sell them to boat owners, so when you beach your boat at a sand bar, you got a fun little jet ski which you can store inside the boat for your kids to buzz around on while you throw back a few brewskis.

Again that's why they are probably asking people what they think in the survey; to try and find what market will fit their product the best.

Maybe you can get your hands on a demo when they come out and we could work some magic on it at PHP...... We're only a few hours away :)

I know this is not "OUR" thing as stand up riders / racers / freeriders, etc. It is not intended to be.....

I just wanted to get a broad exposure for the survey. Not just business men, and people who are NOT into PWC's. IMO it is an interesting concept, and I think will have a market. The machine shown is just one of many concepts / prototypes, it is totally hand made, and in rough form. It is really just for testing hull designs. When they go to production, there will be many changes, and will have a sleek much more finished look.

Again, I really do appreciate your time, and HONESTY, even if you do not agree or like this. It is OK, and could help with any other future changes.

Also to be clear, this is not my company. They started as a customer of mine, and lately I have been involved in working with them, with assembly of the prototype, changes, etc. There are things to come. ( larger engine, and more HP in the near future.)
These are good guys, with great ideas and connections. I am excited to be able to be involved. Should be fun helping bring something to market.

I haven't taken the time to read whatever ya'll read. So I apologize if this is a redundant question... but what power plant is in this?

Of course this is a niche opinion, and I mentioned it on my feedback, but if this thing didn't look anemic from a power standpoint, it might be a lot more fun.

This has a lot of potential with a dramatic design change. I think they need to redevelop their market, or I should say, their craft function. It's great in the concept of portability but I believe it will fail because it fails at everything except portability. However, I strongly believe this could be highly successful if modified to be more functional.

This ski is very confused in it's identity and will fail just like the 3D did. The 3-D is a 2-person hull that accommodates only 1 rider. It's awkward to stand on. The motocross seat is impossible to stay on riding aggressively. The motor mounts and other parts fail with wave jumping and etc. The only thing great about the 3D is cart mode, which costs extra, and wears off.

That ski is long and awkward and is suffering from an identity crisis. It's a cross between a mini cigarette boat, a jet ski and a claw machine. I think this could be successful with two simple changes...

Hull design: Change to SXR, Superjet, X2, Seadoo Xp (gen 1), B1, etc stand up or early sport class ski. The length of the ski does not say sporty. It says bass boat.

Make a decision: Is it a fixed steer or a stand up? Look at the X2 guys. A huge trend is flat decking them. I bet if the X2 came with gunnels instead of a seat you would see less flat decks. Stand up riders move, and they move a lot. If it's a stand up, ditch the seat. Even the 3D got that. If it's a sit down however, build a stop (hull mounted steering so you don't slide forward on the seat) and a properly sized seat. I ride a X2. The stock X2 seat is NOT for sitting. My tall seat works well, and I occasionally sit on my stock seat (go kart style), but the low seat is only for calm, it hurts in the chop.

The portability is awesome. The style and the function will cause the flop. Keep it portable and keep it cheap. However, shorten the nose about 2 feet, take note of every jet ski on the market and ditch the bass boat style bottom deck, put a fixed steer and a proper seat OR remove the seat and put a proper pole.

Cheap and portable will sell, but not at the cost of function, and our society also expect style.
