Can't yet, physically unable to move the darned thing, or the scupper. Like I mentioned, I do things properly the first time, which makes it a PITA later.

On the scupper, I've already cut like 1" off the rear with my 'dremel' (Black&Decker RTX, much nicer), put a short piece of 2" pvc in against it and beat the crap out of it with a rubber mallet and it didn't budge. The exhaust is the same story. I have 3M all over both of them, so I think I'm going to have to do some grinding on the firewall to break them loose unfortunately.

You are coming up to turf it next week, right??!?!

what are you going to use to seal the bondline? Mine was leaking in the same spot and I filled it all in w/ 5200 (slow cure). Sat the boat on its side so it would fill in as many voids as possible. Since it was slow cure it took a day for each side.

hey jett...woudl it have made it any easier for the de/refoam if you had just cut almost the entire sides of the tray out???

maybe not since youre changing the holds..but if you were going to leave them the same, then would that make it easier????

also, are you "takking into account" the extra thickness of the 25mm turf, or just installing the holds as normal..?

I rode Jeremy Parr's boat down in Houston last month with this exact setup and it was perfect for my feet/shoes. I rode it at Lanier but didn't try the footholds or didn't notice them, but in Houston I actually did some tricks and with WF holds and 25mm underpad I was comfortable immediately and felt really connected to the ski.

I'd rather not cut too much of the tray up but am tempted to chop a U shape out going from one side across the bottom and up the other.

I have the same problem a few others mentioned where my footholds are way at the back and with my X metal setup (pole, plate, bars, bracket ) I'm so far forward that I wish my holds were more upfront .
I'll change mine out this winter when I paint my SJ .

scupper and exhaust tubes are out!!!!

And I discovered a new tool, a drywall mud mixer on my drill. Wow, it's like popcorn flying out of there, no dust, and it's a power tool. Perfect.

I have the access plate cut out, and probably 1/2-2/3 of the foam out. There is water everywhere, so I'm glad I'm doing this, though I knew from the leaning that it had water.

Wow, that works pretty good. I imagine without having to film, and using two hands on the drill it's a lot easy to keep control. Very cool idea.

I'd rather waste 2 weeks of riding a heavy boat with footholds I come out of all the time right now and have great riding the rest of the year.

Trust me, it was a hard choice, but it has taken on a ton of water just in the past month or so, and after riding p-diddy's boat again in Houston it confirmed I wanted Watercraft Factory footholds.
