Custom/Hybrid Rickter FR2 Evo sink question

How much foam is needed for an FR2 to Not sink. I have seen the Bob sink test and it floats fine but have not seen an FR2 test. Any real world experiences? Bad or good?
Any good ideas on where to place the Foam and where to get the foam so that it can withstand gas oil breakdown.
Here's a pic of my new Evo, I really really don't wanna scuba for the ski on the bottom even though I do have my license,

Thank god I don't have any experience with unexpected bottom time but ski looks sick. Congrats on the new ride!!! I know that the tray in the non evo FR-2 has foam. Don't know if it is enough to float it though.

Can't wait to see so video of you going huge.

Did you extend the exhaust out the back of the hull or does it come that way?

I helped drag a regular FS2 (not mine) in the surf that was completely swamped. The ski floated on the surface just fine. Not sure if he had any added foam though.

Unrelated is RRP using real hyrdoturf on the trays? That looks alot better then the s___ they used to preturf.

I added swim noodles inside the engine compartment of my freak , up around the nose and wherever else you can fit them. You can trim them to fit smaller areas also. I think several noodles will make the difference on how well it floats.

Congrats Matt
Most important thing to keep it afloat while getting rolled in the surf, is to make sure the pole breather tubes are run all the way to the bottom of the ski . and make sure the hood stays on. they tend to stay upside-down, water doesn't go up hill, so you want the breather tubes all the way on the bottom of the ski, which is above the waterline when the ski is floating upside down. Mine was able to survive that way with no issues on a really big day. it got pounded for well over 10 minutes. that said, I have seen them go down in 2 seconds with the hood knocked off

I got a good little slip on my Evo-1 yesterday that split me knee open pretty deep. After this... I decided that Im going to returf.

When U say go down, do u mean to the bottom? Some Told me that Rickters go straight to the bottom like a rock and others have told me that they are fine and will stay up because of tray foam. Evo has the new lid style hood so less likely to come off but never say never. I just want to be safe. Cuz I'm going to wreck it.

You said you got insurance... is there a high deductible?

Throw a ratchet strap over the hood. That should keep it on. What about pole foam to keep it upright? Shove pool noodles in the pole?

I'm going to make a new chin pad for mine with foam in it to try upright the ski, I think it's better to try upright a ski than tring to float a flooded one with foam

Just let you know that BOB test was ? My BOB Gen 2 sunk straight down after getting swamped. Fortunately I was only 8 feet off the shore by then. I also have the Rickter FR2 and the sealed hood is great but I think the biggest weakness on any of these boats is the scupper valve, when the boat is upside down it allows the air to escape really fast which pulls the water in.

whats the best way to cap the scupper?

Sorry this is the best pic I have. Remove the POS scupper on the rickter! Its JUNK! Replace with a metal plate with surface mount versaplug. Still allows hull to drain, and your ski can still survive upside down for a few minutes without sinking.
