True, he put it through the ringer, but it was no lightweight either.

how much more weight are we talking, I mean to get a hull thats going to last thats 20lbs heavier and going to last priced and priced cheaper than the others sounds good to me.

Are those full carbon hulls strong, I just cant get over a 55 lbs hull bieng strong enough thats going to last learning b rolls and all the bigger tricks and the not so smooth and consistent riders (me) lol, If Im spending this much money I would ant to get the most for the $$. Im new at this stuff so just applying my .02 Sorry if im getting off topic

Of all the "lightweight" hulls out there, Trinity is the only one I trust. Seen to many others that had issues.

I do not think many remember the Wammer "2 Minute" hulls from years back. They were light and that was it. Do not expect them to last long. I believe knowledge is much better now than 6 years ago as far as composites go. But there still seams to be several MFG's that are still having issues. Granted, most of these are "Pro" level hulls. An amatuer who does not land his rolls will tear up one of these quick whereas a pro who lands them may not tear one up. Personally, I do not see a need unless your a pro level rider. But, to each his own.

Of the composite hulls out there, I know for a fact that the WCF hull that Pete had was a tank. Pete is rough on hulls, he did not kill that one. My rule of thumb (which really does not matter much) is that until you reach the limits of your OEM hull, you do not need a lightweight hull. (those that get them, get them because they want one).

I have the same theory on motors. Learn on what you got, progress from there. Ported 701, move up to a Ported BigBore, once you master that power, Go up to a stroker (OEM or Lamey or XScream). Going from a stock motor to a full on AM Motor setup is not going to make you any better, If any, I would think it would delay your learning curve.

Actually a guy down the rode (gary burtka) has or one, paper thin but light, his was pretty much destroyed after a few shows/contests.

I am very much a beginner, second year riding stand ups.. I"ve looked at all kinds of aftermarket hulls, but in the end decided to stay with stock hull and build the motor. I ended up buying a ski of team scream, and I love it to death. Over my stock sj I had before, I can say that the motor, and having a good reliable, properly set up ski makes a huge difference. I know the stock hull should hold up great to what I do with the ski.. and IF I want to sell it, it will bring some value being oem.

I have seen him ride several times in competition. He is rough, his rolls are not clean. If you side slap at all you are really stressing the hull. Ratti, Parr, Stoyer, Bogart, Malone, Lustic, John Kaiser, Keith Head, and only a few others here in the US are the few that can totally pull a clean roll where there is little side impact. Gary is far from that level.

I will let you know how mine holds up. I'm learning flat water on mine (Tem's Carbon Jet 55lb hull) I would say I got 100 + FAILED BF's on mine off boat wakes & few in the surf & my hull has no cracks!

Pat & Stoyer are riding Xmetal hulls which are built by the same guy.

I would say a light hull is not for everyone, I have one because I wanted one! Just remember you only live once & can't take anything with you!

Looking at the various hulls so far it seems the favourite would be the EME or Trinity Matrix

i have looked at the WDK REV as its priced well and seems to give a good weight saving (88lbs) for the dollar, the Matrix GP for around the same dollar is about 20lbs heavier, im not sold on teh angular design of the matrix right now...

.. im thinking holding out and maybe looking more seriously at the EME, its at the next price bracket but seems to be a good design etc

only down side of that hull along with the Matrix is there isnt enough feedback on the individual hulls right now to make an informed decision

i have checked the various build threads but they are not the best place for impartial information as who ever is building that hull is obviously saying its the best... why wouldnt they.. and then most other comments are comments of appreciation.. again thats the way it is as no one will be negative on someones build thread

so to get all the info in one place with pros and cons of each hull would be awesome so anyone looking can make a true informed decision

Yeah I ride with Gary on the weekends I see the abuse he can throw down. He still shreds though, hes been helping me alot lately on inverts and getting b rolls around.

Rule #2 dont buy from WDK! His cheap/crap hulls are Spray chop gun lay up with polyester resin. Anyone who rides a ski hard will destroy one far faster then a reinforced OEM. I have seen and heard of way to many WDK's failing.

Rule #3 If you are gona step into a AM hull make sure it is better then OEM! Upgrade resin, and materials, make sure the finished product is lighter or at least stronger and a better desighn.... or else your just wasting your $$$$.

i have looked at the various web sites for the aftermarket hulls and to be honest considering the $$ you have to drop im suprised at the lack of specifications.

understand the point that you can search through threads on here.. but thats labourious to do.

the hulls start at around 4k and go up in value to crazy amounts.. id expect some detailed specifications on these for the $$.

Im an AUSSIE and have been only been riding for 2 years and i just got a Rickter FS1 with a 909cc engine. its a fibre Glass version and its been reinforced with Kevlar . i find its pretty strong but i dont no much about design as in its the only aftermarket hull ive ridden.. its my second ski, my first was a 2008 (built in 2007) superjet. it was great but just wanted an edge. Im only 18 but anyone that wants to buy a rickter i would say don't hesitate because mine is awsome and i Love riding it.

thats my 2cents

If that is the case, the explain how Skywalker's original XJet is still out there, I know the guy that bought it. I actually road it in Texas in 2005. Luke sold it in 2007-2008. Those Okie guys ride the living snot out of their ski's. If all WDK's stuff was junk explain how this one is still going strong.

I am not a WDK Fan, would never own one or any part. I have seen some of the REV's that were sub-par as far as quality. But to say that all his stuff is junk is just not 100% accurate.
