Well I am totally soaked from pressure washing that lol. Simple green, pressure washed, it's about as clean as it'll ever get. There's still a bunch of discoloration though. So anyways, my Waterbox vibrated like crazy through the smc. The Waterbox had a hole in it, and the hull was worn down like 1/4 inch. I originally was just planning on putting a little glass over where it rubbed, and fix the waterbox hole. Anyways, I was pressure washing the bottom and was taking off part of the yamaha decal that was all scraped off, and then I flipped it back over, put it on the work cart and wheeled it inside.. Then I started vacuuming the water and found a nice surprise:

the pressure washer cut through what was left of that smc LOL. It musta been paper thin. Talk about crazy rubbing!

Time to do some grinding.. Do you guys grind the ribs on the top deck towards the nose? Or do you only reinforce up to that point? Also, do you grind the rib with the screw in it? Lastly.. The ribs directly underneath the hood seal? They only stick out underneath the hood seal. Probs could just cut reliefs in the glass and not grind em.
Pics of the ribs near the nose, the rib with the screw, and the hood seal ribs..

rather not grind more than I have to. Gonna get started on the bottom deck ones right away tho.

I reinforced all the way to the nose. Also reinforced under side of hood lip

so you ground out ever rib?

Well I just finished grinding the four main ribs on each side. Dremel with 60 grit sanding drums works pretty darn good! I didn't get em perfect but the majority of the material is off. I'll work on feathering them a little better later, but not now. Plus hand sanding will blend them too. Dang, that sure puts out a lot of dust! Some kind of respirator is necessary for sure.

theres a patch job I gotta fix by the previous owner too. You can see the hole in the last pic. Still gotta get the rest of the polyester resined glass off.

I'm so glad I had that respirator!

Tapatalk won't let me click the link. Is that the reinforcing a squarenose one? I'm not gonna grind those ribs. I'm reinforcing up until that area. That spot doesn't get much stress aways. Under pole bracket, engine sides, hood and hoodseal are more important imo

Ohhh okay! Plus there is so much excess plexus up there it would take forever to grind and get a good surface. And there's some nasty uneven surfaces. I don't feel like wrestling biax there. Lol
