the holes in the plates just about need to be blind ( not go all the way though the plate ). that would stop the water getting under there.
good luck with the build it looks like your doing a mint job!

Replacement mounts came in for Rhass today.
Drilled and tapped the engine blocks, got the mounts in, set the engine and pipe in and got cock slapped right in the face.
I don't think she's going to go even with denting the pipe and cutting out the hood lip. I need to stare at it with fresh eyes.

On a positive note, the turf I put in for the fuel tank and water box didn't fight me at all.

before I put the plates back in I set the shortblock in with the motor mounts attached to the bed plates so I knew the height and general location was correct. After the plates were back in and glassed over, I did the same process. Bolted the motor mounts to be bed plates and set the short block in. I moved the mounts around until the couplers were lined up side to side and height wise then marked through the mounting holes with a marker. Removed everything, drilled and tapped the holes.

Okau sweet. I figured thats how you did do it but just wanted to make sure.

And as always super nice work. It looks phenominal.

Thanks for the kind words Joker.

I also need to throw a shout out to Robin @rhaas products.
I contacted him in regards to two of my mounts starting to show some separation to the base plate. Without asking any questions to instructed to send all four mounts back and they'd be replaced with the new billet mounts. I also inquired about a slightly shorter than standard mount for my application and he was able to mould them 1/8" shorter which worked out perfect for this build. The new mounts were shipped out the day after my old ones were received. With all the disappointments and hurdles this thing has brought me, I can't tell you how nice it was to have good communication and the product delivered without any issues. I will absolutely add Rhass to the very limited number of venders I'm willing to work with.

So I got sick of searching for a B-pipe and this happened:

Said F-it and started cutting. Clearanced the hood lip and a little heat and a hammer on the pipe and it'll work. After I had the pipe fitting I went back through and reinforced the underside of the hood seal area with a light layer of 2x2 twill to seal everything back up and then 2 layers of 1708 biax. She's nice and solid again.

Ironically enough, after the pipe fit and the engine sat where it needed to, I had fitment issues with my Total loss setup lol. So that came back out and got one of the coils relocated to clear the pipe as well.

Got the ride plate trimmed and moutned:

Picked up a Slasher chin pad. Needed a pit of work on the sides to fit the titan pole. Got it fitting pretty well and mounted. Also machined up a chin pad support / steering stop on the lathe.

I'm waiting on some small parts again. Hopefully see them tomorrow and finger crossed this thing can start going together again.

This build has officially broke me. It's ruining my enjoyment of the sport and building. Everything that could possibly fight me has. Not one piece has gone smoothly. Possible liquidation of all ski's and parts coming next week. Starting with this f*cking hull

Honestly, every piece.

Carbon exhaust tube in the hull is too large for the Rad Dudes exhaust hose. So I got a piece of rubber hose and a stainlless junction tube. Exhaust tube in the hull aims straight at the middle of the carb fuel pump and thats right were my junction is now. It's going to rub. I opened up the harness on my total loss for free up some wire to move a coil and it was a disaster. I eliminated 9 connectors that weren't needed ( crap ass butt connectors that were all corroded. That was 4.5 hrs of work last night to rewire. Only two of the hull inserts for the tank and water box straps held torque, the rest are stripped out. Throttle cable is too short now that the water box and tank are in. Start/stop wires had to be lengthened. Some of the things I should have planned ahead for, but I worked on this thing every night last week until 11pm or later, and all day today...

Should have built 4 skis for the time I have in this thing. I just need to walk away for a few days, spend more money to replace new parts that don't fit

Already talk to him about it. This was the first Vision ever built about 2 1/2 years ago. The problem as been address and revised already.
For all you AM hull surf riders, don't let salt water stay in your bilge for long periods of time...nothing good ever comes out of it.
Let's now focus on the build thread and take it easy on the hull builders :)
I'm gonna go on record here and say this was NOT my fault. that hull has been stored inside my building DRY, since I acquired it. it sat without seeing water for over a year because nobody could figure out what the correct steering cable was for it because the SN cable I was told would fit was 14" too short. I only had the ski about 2 years. I didn't build this ski. I bought this as a completed boat from steve. I barely ever even worked on it myself. if I had a problem, I had a trusted individual (Lucampits) do the work with parts supplied by jetmaniac. this ski didn't set with water in EVER. it was washed inside and out with soapy water by hand and then excess was dried with a shop vac before it went into my building with the hood off. this whole sale happened so fast I barely knew what was going down. as for hours... I would bet money I rode it less than a dozen times. now as for how many time steve had it out before I acquired it, OR how many people demo'd it at the 2012 Daytona freeride as a favor to STeve since at the time he only had one other hull built, is a matter of contention. I apologized to smitty, I also refunded part of his money as a show of good faith, I also called steve when I had heard that I didn't properly care for this ski and that was why this happened, but I'll be damned if I'm gonna sit here and get bashed behind my back by steve on here. this is all on you buddy, the ski delaminated. YOUR work. nothing I did would have caused this. I did everything in my power to keep that thing in top form. even spent almost 2K in repairs to the driveline after all the rocks went through the pump from flat-water Friday demos. I never asked you for a cent. what about the other skis you did over hauls for me? over 4K per ski and the gaskets blew out of them on the 3rd ride. I kept all this quiet, because I thought we were tight, but yeah, I see where your loyalty is. cover your ass and screw me and my reputation. whatever PAL!

smitty, none of those fitting appeared to be stripped, almost every bolt came out cleanly. are you using all metric hardware? cuz that's what was in it. as for parts you may have thought would come with it ( drains and what not ) I was told by the "broker" EVERYTHING was coming off, so that's what I did. once again, I'm sorry. had I known. I would have filled the thing op with propane tanks and a road flare and took it too the gun range.
