Security surveillance camera

Im plugged straight into a hardwired connection to my network switch, not running it on wifi.the nvr is located upstairs on one of the furthest runs of cat6 in the house. This is the first thing I have ever hooked into this, ja k since installing it. Maybe I need to speed test it?

Phone goes over wifi here at the house, i am gonna do some digging and see what I can come up with. When I got up this mornin I had a ton of events on my garage cam, I expected some due to the doggie door, but most of them are bugs setting it off. I have reduced the sensitivity to see if that helps.

I just tried again at work over a cellular connection and it boots me back to balanced as well. I have no issues at home but I have a pretty stout home network and great cellular service through Verizon.

At school this morning and I cant connect to the cams. I get push notices but it won't open on my phone. Says it wont connect, when I get back homenthis afternoon will hook up my monitor and go thru the nvr to see what I need to adjust.

Do you connect to the WiFi at school? My work blocks my connection so I have to switch off Wifi and use LTE if I need to check any of my cams. PITA if you ask me but it is what it is.

Get Ready Boyer, Gonna be hitting you up also once I get mine started. When I cancelled original order, they sent a survey. I told them I was still a customer and that I got a friend who turned me on to them along with others. Maybe they will give you commissions!

Plays over cellular! You're the man Boyer!
Now one more question, my garage cam allows me to only playback motion events, but the front door cam doesnt even pop that up as an option, any ideas?

How do you have each channel setup to record? I'm guessing the garage is setup to record on motion only and the front door may be set up but then not set as active?

I'm not sure what the default is anymore. I have all mine set to record 24/7 as I have never found motion to be reliable enough.

So my front porch cam is the pnly one thats actin a fool. I am gonna pull it tomorrow and hit the reset on it. Installed 3 more cams today and now all entrances are monitored and the driveway and I put one in the garage to make sure all my stuff stays put. I dont know why I waited so long to do this but I am glad I did!

What is drawing you to the wireless version vs wired?

The most common reason I hear is that people don't want to run Ethernet cable from their NVR location out to each camera. I challenge back, you still need to power the cameras so what will it take to put a 120VAC outlet at each location? Surely CAT5 has to be easier, (and doesn't require an electrician either).

Regardless, wireless systems certainly have their place but be aware that their resolution is limited to 1080P resolution, (1920x1080), The wired 4MP version offers 2560x1440 and the 5MP versions are 2560x1920, (that's nearly double the view area and 2.5X the resolution!).

Having recently upgraded from 4MP cams to 5MP, I can attest to how much of a difference resolution makes. 4MP would be the minimum I would ever consider.

I wish I hadn't just upgraded when they were offering 15% off for the 5MP RLC 410. Looks like i'll be upgrading 3 more cameras :(

I’ve learned to hold off as well. Discounts usually mean a clearance of stock to make room for something new.

Now, I still say that the difference between 4 and 5 isn’t so dramatic that you have to upgrade. I only did a few key spots and have no plans to upgrade any more. 4MP down the sides of the house are more than adequate.

Get the camera working great on wireless etc at my desk. Install the camera in the hardest part to get too on my too small of ladder and the damn thing wont connect now.. So go to run an Ethernet cable to it and I'm 7ft short..
