i got rid of the gay wr3 handlebars and got a regular round marine steering wheel.

but then, where do i put the throttle? i think the throttle on the bars is kinda 'eh'.

i might get a regular sidemount throttle to go onto the side of the console.

in the meantime, i threw some loose parts together and came up with this. itd mount on the console, to the right of the steering wheel.

use a rubber band for cruise control?

i can if i put the lever against the bracket. remember, a cable has to come out of the flat end.

otherwise, a velcro strap.

this is just one of a few configurations that ive come up with using the same pieces. i have to actually sit on the boat and see which config feels best, takes up the least console real estate, and is condusive to cable placement.

its been raining here almost consistantly for days, and i dont wanna get my tooshie all wet. thats not what boating is all about. LOL

Then he would be copying Steve! :twak:

Charley, get a proper boat throttle!

:smlove2:

ryck, im not sure if a 'proper' boat throttle uses the same cable threads/ends as the ones of pwcs or if it has the right throw. that would be ideal though. this 'kinda' looks like a real throttle from about 25' away.

I though this was a custom build, head down to the shop and fabricate something...

i DID fabricate something in my very own little shop of horrors , RICK. :wavey:

the problem is that boats use throttle cables that are like our steering cables.... not to mention that theyre expensive and to put $250 into a throttle that ill have to modify and not even know if i could get it to work, would be insane.

so i said f it. heres what it looks like mounted. its SOLID and in a very comfortable position.

the switch cluster on the left will be replaced by a new piece of a sluminum of the same size, but with the waterproof toggle switches from SXIPro. the area on the opposite side of the wheel from that, where the little hole is, will have a raider guage. i just gotta figure out how and where to mount a stock yami s/s switch now.

how about a foot pedal throttle so you dont have to put your beer down for one hand on wheel and one on throttle. how many revolutions does the wheel turn? :Banane35::Banane35:
