is it something that you grow to like or did you like it from the start?

When I took out all the weight I liked the new handling from the start. But it did take a little getting use too. It gives me more control, the ski is much more agile, and it gets more air then a heavier boat with the same hp.:sneaky:

My 96 RN SJ came in at 270lb.

My new fixed steer free ride ski will weigh less then 255lbs complete.

In ruff surf a light boat gets knocked around a little more then a heavy weight, but I live close enough to the beach to be picky about clean waves.

To me, the lighter the better so far. I will keep everyone posted, and get pics of the outcome on my latest project.

Trinity SXR 1000cc polaris came in at 275lbs.

X-Metal 1000cc Yamaha came in at a 274lbs.

^^^^^^ Both of these boats took a beating out in the surf with Zero damage on either ski that I know of.

WCF 1000cc Yamaha boat came in at 289lbs with some fuel.

No Waterdawgs hit the scale that I know.

According to MonsterSJ, my XFT topdeck converted boat came in at 317lbs with 2 gallons of fuel. I was quite happy!

I've got the stock fuel tank, waterbox, WAY too much PVC for the exhaust, and 4lb foam. I'm planning on putting it on a bit of a diet this year.

Regardless, I'm happy with a 317 lb assembled boat considering the hull alone is at 88 lbs (on my bathroom scale).

Yes, with about 2.5 gallons of fuel, RRP handlepole and a full size acid battery. :scratchchin:

That was interesting seeing all the weigh ins. The weights on the light boats were right in line with my complete XFT. The only real surprise I saw was how heavy the 24/7 hull was.
