What was that weight?

A bit over 100lbs w/o hood. Not bad for a light stocker, but a bit beefy for an aftermarket hull IMO. Looked ok for a hand laid part. I was hoping to ride the complete boat he had there, but I never saw it run for more than a minute or two. Joe(njfl) has ridden it and said he thought it ran pretty fair for what it is. Pierre was trying to ride it in the double backflip thing , but they couldn't get it to run.

I haven't read through the whole thread, but I was wondering how accurate are truck scales? I don't have a scale accessible to weigh the ski by itself, but was thinking about putting in the back of the truck, then weighing the truck with and without the ski.

seams like there are several so called lightweight hulls that are weighing in as not so light, but there are also other factors, gas amount, battery, foam, etc etc.

you really gotta mix that stuff up good and the weather plays a big factor. I've had different batches go off very differently.

That is the truth...........

I think on Jarrods it went off real quick, then on Yamacats square it was kinda slow.

when I did my ski last year, it seamed like it was taking forever...........

i keep it in the fridge until ready to mix it........gives you an extra minute or so

I could have grilled a burger, cleaned up, taken a poop and still had time!!!!!!!

Now, the stuff that Blowsion sent me several years ago............. dont sneeze from the time you mix to pour, I had a geyser spewing from the ski, poured a tad bit much and it really went off!!!!!!!!!!!!

the best stuff I have used is actually thye stuff I got from WDK....Jeff swears it will NOT hold water...

I actually didnt have quite enough, had to go to boaters world to get a pint kit to finish it up and didnt like that stuff nearly as much..

i'd be cool if someone did a side by side comparison of the Jeff's foam compared to X brand. Make two identical shapes of comparable foam, and see which one holds more water (if any).

Why do you need an extra minute? :dunno:

I microwave both parts before mixing so they're nice & hot.
That stuff needs to be mixed & poured under the conditions indicated in the instructions, or the expansion will be less than ideal.

I've looked for plenty of alternatives, and I have never come across a 2-part pourable foam that was closed cell.

if you woudl have microwaved this stuff..there is NO WAY you could have poured it...

Last time I did foam it was 95 degrees in my garage in august.....the first couple of pours I did virtually exploded in my hands.....putting it in the fridge made it useable....

i dont know what it is.....he sends it in gatorade bottles :sneaky::Banane57:

I forgot!
i used 1.3 density and that stuff was almost explosive, i warmed it up a bit on a space heater and it was unusable. it expands too fast to get in the hull. I also had to cool it down.
