SN Superjet fix and improve build

You've come this far. Don't be afraid to trim the holds to make them fit properly. You'll be much happier in the long run if you take the time to do it right. Keep up the good work man.
I generally wonder how it is possible to do this work so meticulously and painstakingly. I simply would not have had the patience. I like to race, that's for me :)
So such a responsible way to the task should be rewarded with great results.

I am kind of doing both. Once i get the foot holds epoxied and riveted in place i will be cruising i think. I will just need to do a bunch of glassing which is not super hard. Then comes turf.

Really excited. This was a big step for me. I tried multiple times to get the footholds in and kept having problems. They are cheaper ones so they did not fit the best. I was struggling to get them to lay flat in all areas. I got myself a new rivet gun with some more power and also some bigger screws with more coarse thread. I used the screws to suck the problem areas flat and then put a rivet in. Then I trimmed them all up. I now need to sand all my previous glass and really get to laying the glass down. I’m starting to see the light at the end of the tunnel. Handful more of big chunks of work time and it will be close I think.

If it's Chinese, it may not be flat :) Or is it not Chinese?

From ebay who knows. Seems to hold up so should work. I thought they were from a guy just making them himself. Maybe i made a bad decision but they seem to work.

Making progress. I have 4 layers of 17oz biax on the floor and 2 layers on all the seams. Was kind of thinking of doing a big sheet tying in the floor to the top where the black squares are and calling it good. Not sure what you guys think on layers? Do I need more?

l think you are good in my opinion. lf you have overlapped all the way around the perimeter, she should be pretty solid.

Anyone else want to chime in

Agreed, 2 layers of biax on the sides is plenty, especially when you're essentially bonding the old side pieces back in.. 4 on the tray floor should be plenty stout as well.

Thanks guys for the input. I felt it this morning and it seems really stout. The floor and everything turned out really good imo.

Along the top rails a little bit flipped up. I will have to sand it down. I may do one more layer to be sure it holds because It did not look the best.

Here is the worst bubble.

I think I’m officially done with the glass. Cleaned the ski up last night with soap and water to get the dust off.

I need to
Turf
Put the rear drains in
Get the cleaned carbs back together
Get the motor in

Then it should be ready to ride. My wife is gone for 2 weeks so I should have tons of time to get this done in the next 2 weeks. It’s about time to go ride.

What don't you understand ?????
Probably the fact that you just jumped into his build thread and suggested he put a 760 R&D head on his motor. I don't think anybody knows where you're going with your comments.

@lcgordon keep up the build, I'm looking forward to seeing your progress.
