I would hit up a junkyard for a complete 5.3L or 6.0/6.2L out of the newer silverados/sierras. You can get entire long blocks intake mani to oil pan with harness & computer for around $1k, it's insane. Once you go FI and realize how easy it is and how nice it makes a hot rod you won't look back, lol.

1k? that seems too cheap. LS1 5.7L are going for a bit more than that. If i could pick up the LS2 6.0L and a six speed trans id def jump on that, besides that i think i can actually get a BBC carb motor and trans set up for a few $k. Hard to put any money in my camaro cuz in the back of my mine i want to save for a circus! ha

Im still looking. I would like to get a set that allow my feet to be straight, knees are worn from college swimming and a duck footed stance would not feel great.

How is everyone doing on their builds? I've completely defoamed and reinforced the rear gunwales but that's about it.. Gotta start getting busy! Soon enough it'll be time to ride!
Can't wait for this extremely cold weather to be GONE..

I did my major build last season. This winter I'm just doing some minor tweaks. My winter is pretty short so I don't have much time for mods. It hit 75* last week, so it's basically riding season. I have been helping my girlfriend with her blaster build. She is doing her whole build, I'm only watching. It's pretty weird to watch her build it, usually it's the other way around. She is doing everything engine assembly, carb rebuild, fiberglass work, turf, ect. I'll post up a pic of the progress.

So where's everybody on their builds? I still gotta finish adding all thru Hull tubes, cut my sheet foam and add drain plugs, seal inserts, build a tray, add footholds, turf and do a super time consuming pad job, reinforce engine bay and pole bracket area, rebuild my engine from the ground up, rebuild carb, and assemble everything. Been procrastinating cuz of this cold weather..
