more pics..........I just mocked up some hoses and fired the ski............sounds awesome!! Almost sounds like a dirt bike with a flowmaster exhaust. Not to loud, does not really pop and has real throaty growl. We will see how it sounds on the water. Picked up a CNC machined 2.5-2.0 reducer. Waiting on 1 more hose from Hong Kong and then we will be ready to hit the water again. One thing I like about doing the exhaust this way is by eliminating the t-fitting all the bends are smooth (except inside waterbox) Some backpressure and smooth transitions is music to my ears. The hose is a high quality 5 ply hight temp, high PSI silicone intercooler hose. I have used this stuff for a while and I think it is exceptional quality and proves to be durable..........but you have to get the thick kind. It is hefty so any weight I saves initally by switching boxs may have gone out the window

where did you pick up that box?? I like the look and one of the main things a water box does is keep the water from backflowing into the exhaust.

It is a x-metal works box. They are all the rage :haha: :cheer: It does not hold that much water which is what makes it ligher than OEM and other aftermarket designs. So far everyone has run them w/o incident to my knowledge

what do you think happens if you run straight exhaust, no box? How loud will that be? like, ridiculous? any problems with backpressure if you dont have one?

I have not tried it but I like back pressure in every motor, I think it gives it a better sound and no back pressure can achually hurt your performance.

Your ski rocked me in PA when I rode it. That thing has some killer power for any ski, much less a SN!! Great job so far, and thanks for letting me try it out. I wish mine had that much power.

Thanks man........maybe by this time next year I will stop making changes to it  Still have MSD TL to install :sneaky: I need to ride more lamey boats to see how it compares. I have no real reference so I just go with what the motor responds too. Some guys like it some do not. Some say that is powerful and some say it's ok. But Malone liked it :Banane35: so thats a moral booster right there. He has built and ridden many different setups.

hey rat, how far up can you go with your 650 bolt-ons? I've got a few 650 parts I'd like to use on an upgraded engine also. my 650 needs a 701 or a 760 in it too.

What do you mean "how far up"? Are you asking what 650 parts transfer over to a 701?

my square is a 650 ( I think it's the 61x cases), it has coffman pipe and mani, some wierd aftermarket single 46 intake ( no name). I think the B pipe is way bigger than this pipe, I'm just wondering if they will interchange up to 701/760.
I'm eventually going to put an 800+ in this thing.

I bet it is 6m6 cases, they look very similar to the 61x cases. The pipe will work on a 701 but I would double check the manifold. It may line up, if it does it will need to be port matched. You can put a 701 on the 6m6 cases but that will require clearencing. This link may help:
