Reading comprehension is key here boys.

Hence the 15 minutes. And almost 4k pump. Key notes. Its a dialed pump for a 1100.

My oem 155 propped for a 701, by me, ripped identical. Very slight change in peak rpm and hookup. Slight

Get it now???

So does writing sentences which people can understand what your trying to say. ""Fwiw I had a oem 155 behind my 1100. With a prop that was behind a 701" this reads to me you ran a prop that you ran on a 701 with a 155 pump and ran same prop with 1100 motor.....

Lol... I've compared 2 skis back to back OEM to mag., SETUP CORRECTLY the difference was mind blowing, the oem 155 is the biggest pos for flatwater use.

701 cant even dream of pulling the same prop as a 1100.

If you thought I paid almost 4k for a pump without a prop and then pulled a prop and swapped it at the river in 15 min. My bad I guess.

A Yami based non pv engine with a 10mm stroke, with a setback 155mm pump, in the hands of a good rider, will perform 95 percent as well as a pud on the world's most blinged out piece of fiberglass or carbon.

Thats the point I'm getting at. You winder why no one cares about skis. Because the only skis worth caring about are totally out of reach of anyone starting out. And most dudes with high end skis think their poop don't stink and forgot where they came from.

Call it how I see it. Take it or leave it. Most leave it. O well. Got landing lessons here at 6. Have fun on the water

Setup correctly. Tuned right. Pieces of the puzzle. Blah blah blah. Same old story. They said my 1100 would boil my 701 prop. Guess what. It doesn't. Imagine that.

The state of the industry

The absolute lack of comradery, innovation, or appreciation. Show me 1 thing that is new that has come out in the last 3 years besides the yamaha 4 strike sj.

I think maybe the thing that is causing so much pushback here is it sounds like you're saying that a "dialed" pump didn't perform any better than a "not dialed" pump.

Forget about mag vs oem, how are you claiming that the pump was "dialed" if it did not perform any better than the other pump that had the wrong impeller? What was dialed about it?

I said it had slightly better hookup and peak rpm. I know what a mag pump to non mag feels like. It's not more power. Only a inexperienced rider would think that. It loads and hooks better is all.

A jet pump is a water turbine. Not very complicated at all. The technology was perfected long ago. Jet boats have been dominating it for years. It's well known a prop is a tuning tool. And can make a difference. How big of a difference is the thing being argued here.

It's literally the same 25 guys into these things. Finals is just a slow aging process of about 15 different groups of people. Like I said. Just calling it how I see it. I can understand why it stings to hear this. Most guys who back flip skis, only back flip skis.

I've got more guys on the water into standups than anyone I know. 5 fold. They just don't care about Facebook or the internet. This is just a boredom killer for me dude

Last year I restored a 650sx and now have a new group of kids learning to ride it. Whats old is new for these guys.

Damn right! I'm building a 650sx for a kid who barely has a pot to piss in. It will cost me some of my own money, but I remember the joy that stand ups brought me when I first got into it.

So true……
Even the 650 SX turds that you couldn’t give away are $3K this year.

State of the Industry 2021 = $$$$$.

This kid got it for free from a guy who use to race I believe. Its pretty slick looking, but the pump is locked up and the motor might be toast....we shall see.

Last year I sold 4 Superjets all to new riders. I invite them all over to ride for as long as they want, and buy it if they liked it. One guy came over and I was expecting to ride for 15 minutes or so. It was his first time ever riding a jet ski. He was really nervous but I gave him some pointers and a free pass to just have fun with it. 3.5 hrs later he was done test riding it. We both had a great time and he took it home with him.

In current times most businesses can't fulfill their demand in their most profitable areas. Jet ski stuff isn't a hot seller overall and has taken a back seat. Now I feel we just need to get lucky to get someone to manufacture something for us. The older stuff is getting more rare and harder to find. As the availability has reduced, this has caused a couple of things that strains the supply chain. People stock up or horde hard to find items, and prices go up as availability goes down.

As far as new products, there have been a lot of improvements of existing things. We have some seriously impressive stuff now. Quite a few top tier hull manufacturers, amazing engines, pumps, lossless trim systems, etc... There are a lot of great things, its just mostly hard to get and costs some money and time. It's hard to predict the future on this stuff too. Will the 2 stroke stuff continue or will it fade out?

I've had the exact opposite experience here. I put up posts/questions when I get stuck and I get a lot of advice, usually pretty quickly, always have. If I get really stuck or desperate I'll PM a few guys, even on weekends, and always get the answers I need. Hell, I get advice on life issues as well as jet ski issues.

And as far as "skis worth caring about' being out of reach for newbies, that statement is just ignorant. I probably 'care about' and have way more fun on and way more appreciation for my 17 year old SJ than most of the guys that spend $20K on some carbon fiber, 1100 powered stubby little back breaking, uncomfortable to ride, single purpose backflip machine. And yes, I've ridden some...and y'all can keep them. ;) But to each their own. I'm in it to enjoy the water and burn off some stress, not to impress anyone.
