for just hood straps considering the two locking mechanisms on there they will work just fine, i probably dont even need them! i only fitted them cos i had them

also there are differences between manufactures products.... i cant speak for blowsion as i havent seen them, however i have seem "home made" straps and have seen the problems people creat for themselves

atp are made from marine webbing

the wdk front latch is pretty sturdy but can be a pita at times

x2 on that, on the rok i think its worse because its vertical, on the rev it was horizontal and worked great, i have been having problems making the pins catch, and by mounting the straps under the latch system recieving block its actually pushed it up just enough do the pins catch better each time

i thought to begin with it was because the hood seal is new but i litterally left the hood latched down for a month so it would compress a little more and it made not one bit of difference

i have to honest i dont know... lol.... the hull was assembled when i got it.. i have removed the drain plugs and i think it has foam..... plus there are many holes that have been filled by wdk in various areas on the hull, you can just see them, which i would assume would be for foam in/air out

Ok,another question Steve and other Rok hull owners.Don't know if you guys have thought about the where the hull and deck come together in the nose.Just looking at the outside you just see that there is no reinforcement on the outside and looking inside there must be some glass that bonds both pieces together. But has anyone asked Jeff how and what he did to bond these areas? l would think that Jeff would have addressed this area, but just wondering.

I havent asked Jeff but when Brian built mine he laid glass over it on the inside. Knowing how i ride and the fact that my other ski has no nose, i layed another 3/8" of glass up there. Yes it probably will weigh a bunch more but the nose wont be riding high and i wont have to worry as much. I just cant decide on if i should put the nose piece on or run without it. figured i'd 5200 the thing on. might add some strength.

"allegedly" Jeff did a 10ft drop nose first onto concete and the nos section was strong enough to survive....

now im not sure if this was after the "phantom" nose peice was on there, that wa swhat was supposed to take any lawn dart impact, and if damaged could easily be replaced

but i have only ever seen a picture of one .. and to be honest they look f-ugly, i wasnt expecting the nose peice would be flat too.. was hoping for a rounded nose ... but hey ho

Brain at 615freeride had the carbon nose piece in daytona with him.Might be worth adding that to the ski.My rok probably won't see a lot of seriously rough riding,so l'm probably ok with mine. But just wondered what other owners were thinking.

Hey,that blunt nose kind of grows on ya! And looks like WCF has a similar nose,so maybe it is not such a bad idea.

that nose def. has grown on me to the point (haha) that i almost really like it. i think i will be adding it. it cant hurt to dispurse the impact even more. plus i tried to make it look cool.

finally finished installing my flame tonight... i got total loss fright and kept walking away from it an convincing myself i was doing it wrong (first total loss install!), but after a chat with chris at atp .. im all installed and happy ....

now i can drop the motor back in so i can free up some room on my bench!

once the motors in i just need to bang the pipe in (fingers crossed the limited chamber fits!)

all thats left then is install the mag (going to get a new wear ring section and pump seal)... then done... just candy stuff after that!

bring on the thaw!
